Just bought a pair of H3 earphones in silver from the Newcastle branch, and I can confirm that any initial reservations about bass were unfounded.

The controller on the cable works very well with an Iphone but not at all with a Galaxy S4. Sound reproduction was also better on the Iphone hence why my Galaxy is yesterday's newspaper, and im sporting a little white carrier bag!

Excellent earphones.

Ps if your ordering online the red are more of a Graham Norton red, as opposed to a Chuck Norris red!!!

Glad to hear that the H3 are excellent. I am looking froward to trying out the H6, as have never got on with in ear headphones, always found them uncomfortable.

Is Graham Norton Red the offical B&O colour description Whistle

I tried out the H3 and H6 yesterday. Used my iPhone as source.

My initial impression of the H3 were good. I forgot my Klipsch Image S4i at home, so couldn't do a direct comparison, but I too didn't notice the lack of bass. It could very well be next replacement of my current headset :)

The H6 on the other hand lacked bass for my taste. I suspect a better performance with a more powerful source, but at least with my iPhone the sound was a bit flat. I liked the fit and comfort of the H6 though! Its really nice to touch and seems light on your head.

Well i'm now at home and unfortunately it appears that the majority of the R&D budget has not gone on the decent cables but yet more niff naff and trivia. There is a kink in my cable for one ear which will only get worse, which i suspect was caused by being so tightly rapped in packaging the SAS would struggle to crack open easily.

There is a pointless case included which is a leatherette type of hard box. These earphones are for somebody on the move, why in gods name would you carry them around a hard box. I thought the A8 leather case was very suitable, but rarely used mine in reality as i found wrapping them up constantly just added to wear and tear. But i got it, at least they fitted into your pocket.

Top of the range cables, or a pretty box madame?

Why oh why...........

I have a number of A8 cases if you want one - will the H3s fit in them?

So do i thanks Peter but they won't really fit.

The H3 earphones are a significant improvement on the A8's in every way, which i'm very relieved about. There is also a fairly high quality airline jack adapter included. Nice, but it wouldn't be at the front of my budget thats for sure. I fly a lot, and have never needed one of these as a passenger.

You did remove the plastic holders from the back of the packaging rather than just try and pull them out?  If you take the little clear plastic tabs out of the back, everything just falls out so no pulling or tugging (or damaging cables) required.

No i used a pair of  scissors to cut away the card board and plastic. The kink although not the end of the world was on the corner where they wrap under all the packaging.

Now they have been un rapped for a few hours they are straightening.

Interesting to hear that the H6 is lacking bass!?

Can anyone else confirm this?

Chris, can you tell us anything about the noise isolation? Also, how well fitting are the silicone earbuds?

Thanks

I think they sound better than my A8's and Form 2's, as they obviously use more up to date technology.

I know it's a strange contradiction but when I got home and looked at them next to my Form 2's and A8, when i looked at the quality of their construction and materials, i asked myself are they really worth an extra £120. No

Both fore mentioned products are distinct B&O products. The H3's resemble rebadged TDK MT300's, including the packaging!

I do feel a bit embarrassed about saying this, and as you know I try and support B&O when I can. But I just don't feel they feel like a B&O product, so as opposed to going on about it ill just sell them and hope others do enjoy them.

All the best and enjoy the sunshine.

Thanks Martin but I'd feel embarrassed.to do so as there aren't any defects etc, just my own perception of things.

My wife bought me a pair in silver for Christmas. I believe they are a definite upgrade from my Etymotic Research mc3 earphones that I loved 'till now. Better full range sound and clarity without being too analytical.

Just had an email that there are 20 pairs coming into the UK in a LTD edition gold finish.  Same rrp, and only available via the King Street shop - which is an unusual move, but (for the sake of clarity) fine by me as I was involved with King Street for several years, and they deserve the honour.  HArd working and very loyal to the brand.
