From Switzerland a Beomaster/Beocord 8000 in original boxes. The tuner section doesn't work, exactly like mine when I got it.

Already €500 and three days to go!

Scrapyard days are definitely over... and it'll get worse with the Hi-Fi World article!

The Wigwam show report, and surely an Olde Worlde in some future issue... Hi-Fi World has published many features on B&O classics through the years... with, as a consequence, a new interest in these great products and, accordingly, higher and higher prices on eBay!

Hi Jacques do you know how the 8000 was received at wigwam? Also is there really any news of an upcoming artical? I thought the editor wanted to get his hands on a unit first!

No, I don't. I've read that the demo was successful though! See the Wigwam forum.

David Price isn't editor any more by the way. Noel Keywood is now again.

Adam Smith has a full system - the one he demonstrated at the show.

The new issue hasn't made it to my maibox yet, but il should arrive tomorrow!

Despite me being in the smallest hotel room known to man, all went quite well! Comments included:

Beobloke’s system had no right to sound that good, I mean come on its B&O! I think a few perceptions will have been changed there.

Adam Beobloke's poky little room with his fab B&O kit. Cor, once again.

Beobloke’s system was very enjoyable

Beobloke's erm, B & O stuff; gorgeous.

Adam really drew the short straw with the pokiest hotel room i've ever seen. Nevertheless the vintage B&O system sounded glorious playing some Tom Tom Club. Really upbeat and engaging, I really loved it. The system looked like new, really gorgeous.

And my favourite visitor of all was the chap whose teenage daughter thought the MS150s were "really pretty". I love them but even I wouldn't go that far!

As to the Hi-Fi World Beomaster 8000 article - patience, patience...Wink

Welcome back Adam!

Holding my breath then!  Hi-Fi World has been the one and only mag to support vintage B&O equipment so far. Let's hope you will keep doing so!

The Olde Worlde section has been my clear favourite since 1991...

Wait until she marries a bloke with a pair of these - she'll soon change her opinion from "really pretty" to "damned monstrosities" when they take up the space reserved for her ironing board.

I'm in soooo much trouble when my wife reads this.........

Chris.
