My setup with BV7-40 MKV, Beomaster 5 and Beosound 5 is working perfectly with option 2 setting on BV7 and option 2 setting on Beosound 5. I now want to connect the Beomaster Video output with the BV7. I have set the BV7 video input to PC and s Beomaster 5 in the BV7 Options Menu. Pressing PC on the BEO4 just brings a dark screen instead of the expected menu as described in the installation guide of the Beomaster 5.
Can someone help me? What did I do wrong while setup?

Hi,
Is your BeoMaster 5 master linked to the BV7?
is the BeoSound5 in the same room with BV7?
hfat
Yes, the Beomaster is linked to the BV7 and the Beosound5 is in the same room.
if BM5 has speakers connected the option settings should be: BM5 Opt1 and BV Opt1
If BM5 has no speakers connected option settings should be: BM5 Opt0 and BV Opt2.
Which video out socket of BM5 do you connect to which video in socket of BV7?
My speakers are connected to the BV7. I changed BS5 option to 0, no change. Video connection is cinch cable (video out on BS5 to video in on BV7).
which BV7 do have 32 or 40+?
on BV7-32, did you set AV4 to source PC?
on BV7-40+ did you set AV5 to source PC?
in order do hear sound you also need to connect BM5 line out to BV audio sockets of the AV connection you use.
Its BV7-40 MKV. I tried AV5 and AV6, setting source PC. No video on BV7. I have the audio sockets connected as well. Perhaps I have to restart the Beomaster 5 by diconnect power?
You should the VGA input on the BV7. It's a dedicated PC input. It handles higher resolutions than standard video composite.
The problem is that the Master 5 doesn't recognize a monitor on the composite connector.
I had the same issue with a combo of BV5 and a master 5. Using the VGA of the BV5 mk4 didn't work either. The VGA (input on a BV5) doesn't support VESA data over the cable. So no information is send to the master about which resolutions the BV5 can handle.
Same here. User the VGA input in the BV7 (which has VESA support) and you will have an image.
Thanks for the hint. I´ll try it tomorrow as I need another cable YPbpr.
Buy a DVI- A to VGA or DVI-I to VGA cable. That will do the job.
I have my BM5 connect to my BV7 using DVI->HDMI and the sound comes from SPDIF, and this works just perfect.
The BS5 is not in the same room though, and I have speakers connected to my BM5.
DVI to HDMI cable works! Thank you all for your assisance!
Regards, nice weekend

‘what option should I put the beomaster 5 in if I already have a Beosystem 2 on the network and use RADIO and CD?
