Not sure if this should be in Lifestyle or not, but I leave it to the moderators to make a judgement Smile

Yesterday was a family birthday, and so I had everything set up for an enjoyable day ... and at the end I counted up how much B&O we had used, and for how long, and wonder how others had spent THIS WEEKEND ... and of course you can append to this next weekend and every weekend after that Big Smile

So on the weekend of 1-2 June I checked out the MacMini on Saturday morning to make sure all was in order - and had to restart LinkPlayer and iTunes.

Reconfigured the setup for multi-room music, and created a Genius Playlist from a CD that the birthday person liked, and let the system roll.

So by the end of the day we had had 5 hours of N-Music played as follows:

  • room 1: 2 x BL 3s with a BL 11 while have arrival drinks and nibbles
  • room 2: wirelessly to 2 x Bl 6000s over lunch and presents unwrapping
  • room 1: again to listen to more music and play around with the Beovision 8-40 for Youtube clips and the like
  • Used the BeoSound 4 in room 1 to track what music was playing, and in room 2 I used the iPad in the A3 to display the cover art (a poor man's Encore perhaps)
  • Control was exercised by two B2o4s (obviously ine in each room) and the "Remote" App running in the A3 - at one point the birthday girl decide she did not like the Genius' selection and so select Genre = "rock" and pressed shuffle which kept most people happy although at the end we did let SWMBO have her "Mum's favourites" playlist

After everyone had left we sat down for a quite evening with the dish washer and the TV Smile and used the iPad in the A3 to catch up with free to air television we had missed in the past 7 days.

So in total, at least 8 hours of usage - probably more like 10 !

So over to you all ... did you maximise the value of your B&O Virus (sorry investment) THIS WEEKEND ?

Hi elephant,

well, I suppose my saturday was not that exciting!

Started out with listening (Beogram CD4500 + BL5000)  to the CD version of 'Bob Dylan - Tempest'...while my wife was out Big Smile

Later I watched (BV8-40 + BL5000 - AirPlay'ing from iPad to ATV) ) some videoclips with the artists playing this years Tønder Festival (august 2013), and the docu about Steve Jobs that I missed on flowtv the other day.

In the evening - with my wife and the dog - I watched a 'Barnaby' Episode on flowtv (BV8-40).

Great value  for the money invested, indeed! And a quite convenient way too, to 'consume' what I wanted yesterday - it just works!

By the way - the weekend isn't over yet, so I will start my 'B&O-day' with listening to the LP version of 'Tempest'.....

.....while my wife is out Big SmileBig Smile

And 'The Hobbit'/bluray-version is already waiting in the player (for me, my wife and the dog) for later/this evening depending on the weather.

Greetings Millemissen....

....right now listening to 'Melissa Horn - Långa Nätter'/Spotify version in the kitchen (CX100/MCL2A from iPad/AirPlay/Playmaker connected to A.MEM of the BeoMaster4500 in the mainroom) - inspired by following this thread:

http://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/66.aspx?PageIndex=16

There is a tv - and there is a BV

what were you listening to ? your music or the Airbus' channels ? I like how the airlines now can have a library of CD images you can listen to

Watched a few movies and TV shows. I fell asleep for a few hours with them still in my ears, but that still counts!

btw Ed, when are you in BKK? Go and find the B&O store in the shopping centre called Emporium. They sell their dealer gifts there, including a lot of B&O CDs. I bought a polo shirt, a notepad and an iPhone 5 cover! They wouldn`t sell me the miniatures or the Audi A8 model  :(

Lots of TV and podcast watching late at night on the Apple TV, BM7000 and BL5. Not much different than the average day really.

right, here we go, first thing in the morning have the laptop in the dining room so have two hours of vinyl on the beogram 1902 with the beomaster 1900, at some point take a shower and shave with the beollit 700 on a local MW station in english, on and off throughout the afternoon and early evening CD's on the beosystem 4500, sometimes a tape to keep the usage up, evening the family are home so it's T.V. - not B and O sadly

this is every day mind, the joys of retirement

Sadly we are not stopping off in BKK - I would have loved to fill out my B&O CD collection ... Never mind - there's always next year :-)

Nice thread idea, Ed.

As Sunday is just starting here in the States, I am listening to WMMO FM 98.9 on BM4000 -> Beovox M70.

Yesterday I spent much time in the garage working on a project while listening to cassettes on BC2400 -> BM2400 -> Beovox P30.

It is not just weekend but all the time everyday my B&O get's used. It depends on the setups.

Currently it is my white Beosystem 6000 with Beocord 9000 and Beogram 6006 + Beovox S120 that get's to play regarding of the source so radio channel Danish channel 4, records( Tom Waits swordfishtrombones lp currently on it) and tape mostly what's around of tapes but original '70s tapes with Gasolin and Shubidua all the time. Other wise the tapes kind of get stuck.

Got hold of a Beosound 9000 mk2 last week. Just been playing with that for a few hours this weekend. Then listen to my BS8 when I gotta go sleeping.

Last night in the main living room I was listening to an Amon Duul II  compilation on my iTunes . Mac mini plugged into the aux on a BC9000 to RL60.2.

This Sunday morning I am playing the old Francoise Hardy LP "Yeh Yeh Girl of Paris" in my downstairs living room on a Beomaster 2400 Beogram 3404 thru a set of S-75's

The weekend isn't over yet. I could easily switch out systems.

One of the few luxuries of having too much B&O.

Working this weekend, but the BM 4400 with BG 1202 and Bvox P45 got exercised when I was in the shower, returning from work Saturday I could hear Sam Cooke out on the street, my wife playing very loud on the BS 3000, with BL 8000s, While dining we listened to the 5000 stack with the Bvox 3000 connected Elton John LP and Pink CD

Sunday Morning now the TX2 is spinning with Mireille Mathieu through black side and Bvox 3702 and BL 4000s while I get ready for work.

Got an external HDD with about 750 albums. All files are in FLAC-format, but without the albumcovers embedded in the files.

So started with searching for high-res covers, sameone as iTunes uses, and started to encode the files. First results look great on my BS5e, but this takes a lot of time. Then added the correct tags for the metadata. A hell of a job, buth worth and nice to do. And the pleasure is listen to the music, new nice music discovered.

What an inspiring thread.

I have had a lot of weekend work to compensate for my large expenditure on audio related stuff, but my mornings at home has been spent with a record on the Beogram 8002 playing through my 4400 and MS150.2's.

Saturday evening was spent with a reel of music through the Beolab 5000 amplifier and Beovox S75's and this evening with a movie on the same system.

Next week is going to be good; no parents at home, so the 4400 system is moving into the livingroom Laughing

Oh, and I got to fool around with a Nikon DSLR I bought friday!

Vinyl records, cassettes, open reel, valve amplifiers and film photography.

I have my  iPod plugged into my 2400 listening to a Stereolab playlist I made earlier for my bike ride downtown to the market. Had a Vietnamese dish of some sort followed by a Belgian style crepe apples buree in a caramel sauce all washed down with a couple cans of soy milk.

too lazy now to unplug the Beocenter and put together the long dormant Beosystem 3300.

Tonight most everyone is out of the house so for the first time I'm really listening to my 9000 with my Penta IIIs at a good volume. Hungedu said in my other thread that these are the best alternative to the Lab 5 for 20k less and man he was spot on. These things are amazing.

A good complaint !

Its a bank holiday week end here :-)

Every morning and during the the day if I am here its the Bm4400 with its dedicated outdoor antenna pulling in some great fm from a really good local station. So far evenings have been BS9000 with lab1s..... interrupted by BC2 phone calls.

Enjoying it everyday.
