High Fidelity Stereo Amplifier 608: How does the connectors for the speakers look like?
/***

Some have DIN, others have the previous standard plug, again others have fingerscrews. Two pins of banana plug dimensions with the same spacing as european power plugs.Actually, a power plug fits nicely.
Imagine what can go wrong with power plugs on the cables from your speakers ?

Hi,
obviously there are (at least) 2 versions, one with a 2 pin DIN (as mentioned by beaker) and the second one with a screws for the speaker cables (this is the case on my Beolab 608).
I can make a photo of mine later today and post it here if you want...
Vintage Bang & Olufsen
Thank you all. I have a low resolution photo of the actual 608 but cant decide what kind of connectors there are.
Heres the pic:
Oops my mistake! Looks like the 608 has the older style and the 610 the normal din connections.
The correct vintage plugs are round and difficult to find.Fortunately, these will do just as well:

Thank you Martin, then I´ll just get a pair from IKEA.
And here my version, the third one:
speaker connectors as screws ...
And his beautiful front ...

English text on your (S 1040) and the Danish text on my (S 1017). Can the difference in connectivity due to various market demands?

yes, it could be the reason. But it is strange because I've heard that the 608 was the domestic version and the black one 610 the international version. Obviously there were the "blue international version" too...
It would be interesting to see some other sticker with S1040 / S1017 ... designations.

As far as I know, 608 means that the set is a 1962 model and 610 is a 1964 model.
Vinyl records, cassettes, open reel, valve amplifiers and film photography.
Hi Soren,
yes, you have right with year-model notifiacation but somehow i think the beolab 608 was produced also in the years after 1962 and also parallel with 610 in the year 1964. But I am not sure. I think Martin could know this detail about Beolab 608/610 (or maybe he can provide us with a copy of catalog from early 60's).
The Hi-Hi Stereo Amplifier 608 (Hi-Fi Stereoforstærker 608) was produced in several versions. At least three different speaker fittings can be found:
Old type HT connector ( as shown above)
2-pin DIN
Fingerscrews
As well as inputs as- Old type plug- 5-pin DIN- RCA
The RCA & Fingerscrews version was for export.Export versions also have english lettering at the rear cover, domestic versions have danish.
(I have corrected my previous post).
