Hi all,
I am considering getting a BS5E, which is perfect for my needs, as I have all my music already on my NAS stored in FLAC. This will be my first modern B&O system, and I have some questions (since the nearest store is about 300 miles from me):
* I already have passive speakers and an integrated (pre + power) amp (marantz 2245). Can I use the powerlink to RCA adapter to use my existing speaker? If I do this, can I still control the volume on the BS5E?Is there loss of sound quality (I would guess not) by going this route?
* How is the DAC on this beosound? Is the line-in on this unit optical/spdif/toslink line in if I want to connect airport express for spotify streaming from my phone?
* Is there a two-app iphone/ipad remote control app for when I am too lazy to get up from the couch to change music? Would the beo6 work in this way?
Thanks!

Okay did some more searching (the search function didn't really help) and landed on the wiki section. Steve at Sounds Heavenly describes this in detailhere and here. I will send him an email and buy either the box or the adapter cable from his website.

From other searches, this is probably not supported on the encore version. Which kinda sucks, this system has potential to be even better and be at the center stage of my digital content.
Now if any one knows about how the DAC on this is, or if it supports optical line-in that would be great.
Thanks all!
The Encore is a 'player' not a 'renderer' - no possibility to use an app!
No digital-input - 'just' an analog line input.
As for the dac (that is only used for converting the digital stuff coming in through WiFi/ethernet/usb) - listen to it with quality input/music that you already know. That is the only way to judge!
