hey guys, i am trying to connect the BL11&12 to VSX42: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Home/AV-Receivers/Elite+Receivers/VSX-42

the salesman told me i can do the following:

connect BL11 to receiver's preout-zone2, subwoofer. using RCA cable.

connect BL12 (2 in total) to preout-zone2, R and L, using the ethernet(out form the power link on BL) to RCA  cable.

so 3 of them connect to receiver independently

then set to line1 on BL

i did the steps above, and the indicators on BL11&12 are both green. but i dot get any sound come out from them!!!

did i do the correct setup? please help!!! thanks a ton!!!

Skimming through your manual, zone 2 is for connecting an extra amp. and can be set up to follow the volume setting from the receiver, but the sub will always play from the receiver and the BL12s from zone 2. My Onkyo has preouts for all connections, but the preouts are not giving enough output to drive my BL 8000, only up to normal listening level, and not enough when one want to party. So your pre outs for zone 2 may be to low level to drive the BL12s, or wrong set up in the receiver, check you manual.

Problem is you have to set 2 volumes on your pioneer, one for the sub, one for the BL12's (zone 2 is volume controlled separately)

You should connect it this way:

Pre-Out zone 2 > BL11 and you might want to use a custom cable and use the trigger port on the Pioneer to switch the BL11. Steve (sponsor) can help you with this.

BL11 > BL12  (PL > RJ45)
