Hello all,

Could do with a bit of help or advice please as I've snapped my shaft! Big Smile

It's an old Beogram 1200 in Palisander that has been in the loft since I acquired it and have finally got round to making it presentable. Unfortunately at some point its speed regulator spindle has been bent effectively stopping it from turning freely.

Trust my luck that I go and snap it trying to get it back on the straight and narrow! Angry

Can anyone suggest a solution?  Does anyone have a spare!? I'm kicking myself here!

If nobody comes up with a spare. Go to a machine shop, and ask them to make one. I can make one here but that will cost in shipping.

@ Søren - thanks! I think I've got a solution though. It looks like the threaded part is the same as an M3 machine screw (I hope) - I'm going to get a 30mm brass one and try cobbling something together!

Update - success! I've used a brass M3 machine screw and used the Dremel to cut to correct length and then shape the head to match the original spindle. Hopefully this will help is anyone has the bad fortune to snap theirs!

Good job, thinking out of the box is the solution to many problems with vintage, enjoy the Black Magic music
