Hi,

I would like to connect another HD source to my Beovision. In the panel is a 2nd slot where I could add a DVI module beside the one which is already assembled. In the Beosystem 2 service menu I can allocate this 2nd slot to source like DTV or PC e.g. Does anybody know of this works?

Cheers

Great, so I am going to buy the DVI kit from B&O.

Does is support HDCP?

Does the DVI kit from B&O also support HDCP to get any rights protected contents as from Apple TV e.g.?

Martin W,

2nd DVI-kit in a Beosystem 2? Are you sure?

Yoiu need a system 2 with software higher than 13.2. So it should be a mk2 or mk3.

With these system you can/need software 15.2 or higher. These software can assign a DVI to slot 2 or slot 3.

I've had 1 DVI and a component board installed in my BV5 several years ago.

DVI only supports 576i/p and 1080i, while component also supports 720p. Depends which D-model you have inside the BV4 panel.

A general DVI board from will do the job. It hasn't to be a B&O one.

Your computer (if you attach one) will see the DVI as B&O panel. But the system 2 needs only the RS232 data to recognize the panel by the system.

Normally you need to flash the panel with a flashtool (D7 officially supported by B&O) as you need to copy all the display settings for each used slot in the panel.. Otherwise the colours etc are not the same  as when you use the VGA (standard used by the system) input.

I thought using the B&O kit exactly avoids the necessity of the panel flashing.

I found an instruction how to enter the panel service menu where you can change some hex address values. Is that what you mean by flashing?

No, it is not.

If you buy the B&O DVI, like I did, then it comes with a note that  tells the dealer to flash the panel.

You only need the system software which makes it possible to choose the right slot.

Anybody tried this with a HDMI blade for the slot instead of the DVI?
