Guess maybe this is a question for Dillon, the belt guy!

I recently purchased a Beogram 2402 turntable.  It suffers from the sticking pin the raises the tone arm on return.  I opened it up and free'd up the sticking pin.

However, when I removed the bottom cover, I found inside there a strange broken belt that I cant seem to find any reference to anywhere, nor can I see it referenced in the service manual anyway.

The belt is about 3 to 4" inches across and has a series of small cogs or teeth on the inside of the circumference. It appears that rubber has dried out badly and belt was broken.  When I picked it up, it was brittle enough that it broke again.  Is this strange belt really a part of the turntable or did it simply maybe fall inside from another repair years ago.

The turntable drive belt is fine.

Thanks Ray

Welcome to Beoworld !

The small toothed belt forms part of the speed fine adjustment.
The speed is fine adjusted by means of a small fingerwheel just north of the square operating plate.
(Not all owners are aware of it).
The wheel operates a trimmer below decks and the small belt moves the tiny white indicator dot
on the adjacent dial accordingly.
The speed fine adjustment will work fine without the belt and, depending on how much of the belt
broke off and where, so will the indicator dot.

All belts of this type are becoming brittle. I've seen many fail within the last 10-12 years.
It affects all decks using this type of control.

Member suggested I contact you about this query.  A friend who I have just recently introduced to B & O purchased the CD 4500 player and has found that the LOAD door sticks sometimes rising and closing.  I was suggested that this system's door is belt driven and this maybe the main cause of the problem.  Do you know where to obtain the belts from - ie website and was specific type is required.  I was going to suggest that he try B & O Belfast (Northern Ireland) but I would doubt if they would be able to assist him,.

Thanks

David

Thanks but I don't have that belt.
This usually means that B&O can still supply it.

Martin - that is great news, do you stock belts for the Beocenter 2200 (Cassette and Turntable) for future reference?  I presume that the belt you cannot trace can be obtained from the local B & O store?

Many thanks

Martin - don't understand this - I presumed my email came down regularly as before. Will check with my internet provider to change this rule. Thanks David

Would you be able to supply me a belt for the cassette drive in my BEOCENTER 2200.  This belt has perished.  Can you please let me know the cost of the belt and the postage charge?

Many thanks

Apologies Martin.  I have been back onto my internet provider again to see what the problem is.  Hopefully they will be back to me shortly and advise.

Thanks

I just pick up an 2400 and the same belt is broken.  Did you find one? and if so where did you purchase?  I know this post is old and I am a first time user.  not sure how everything works.

thanks
