...of cource that is possible!!!
You can draw from any DLNA compatible server on your network.
The BM5 uses the installed Twonky Server,
You can have a Twonky Server running on a MacMini, but I really don't see why?
OK - if you have the 500GB version, and you have more than the 500GB of music, you might switch to a 1TB MacMini.
Running a Twonky Server (or another good server) on a NAS would be a more usefull way - lots of space and the possibility to run the discs in raid would be good arguments for switching.
If I had a BS5/BM5 combo I would try the JRiver software (for Win and soon for Mac) and the LMS (Logitech Media Server) on a NAS. The Twonky Server works great - that is well known.
!!!Nowadays one might create a BM5 with a 64GB SSD (for the software) and let it draw from a good NAS.
This way the 'BM5 box' could be reduced to half (or less) of its actual size!!!
Greetings - and happy experimenting Millemissen
There is a tv - and there is a BV
This definitely works with the BS5/BM5 as long as you're willing to make the BS5 the master audio device... and, in my case, give up FM radio and unripped CDs throughout the house (which I'm not)... same with Spotify... I really wish it were not this way...

If you say so, you probably have tested that!
On the other hand I don't see how the choice of the server to be used as music source should be connected to choosing the master or the slave role.
Greetings Millemissen
