hallo an alle experten,

the Beomaster 6000  Typ 2251 is according to the service-manual for 220V mains

my question: can it be rewired for operation with 240V mains or is this not necessary ??

the PSU diagram in the service-manual does not give me a clue whether or not that is possible

thank you kindly for any input from you guys

cheers, ALF

Although in my experience the transformer will always buzz a bit when 240V is applied to a 220V primary.

A recent example was a Philips CD104 which was set on 220V and whose transformer was slightly vibrating. Not so on 240V (I have 235V on tap).

This has been the case with all my Beograms, and a nuisance with Beogram 8000 decks and Beocord 8000 tape-decks because there is no provision for adjusting the voltage at all. Hence my preference for buying them in the UK!

This is not ideal and a little bit more (unwanted?) power will even be available at the output of unregulated power amps!

Yes, it can be rewired. Actually, it will then be a type 2252.
See page 11-2 in the service manual.
Note that there are two transformers that needs rewiring.
