Hello!

I just found a working 900 on a flea marketSmile. Inside the cabinet there's a din connector, anything to do with the optional stereo decoder?

If you mean the socket that looks like a DIN but is bigger (it's actually a Noval socket - same as for radio tubes/valves), then yes, that is where the stereo decoder would be plugged. If you don't have the decoder installed, there should still be a dummy plug inserted that contains a couple of components (for FM de-emphasis).

In the 900K model, the built-in speakers are connected to an internal DIN socket though. If you have the 900M, there would be nothing connected to it.

Hello Mika,

Thanks for your reply, in fact the stereo module is connected to this specific socket, but the stereo lamp would not light up, a common failure as I've seen on the forum.

The mysterious din socket is between the AM cage and the HF stage....

The DIN socket is for use when the chassis in fitted in the K-cabinet with built-in speakers.
It's unused in the M-model.

Thank you for the reply, I suspect you have designed  the Bo products, you know EVERYTHING about them:)

Any idea for the stereo light? The bulb is ok but nothing happens on phono/tape mode and Stereo FM.

The stereo signal is OK on FM.

I''ll post some pictures when the beast is cleaned and refreshed, really nice rosewood.

The stereo lamp should be lit when Tape pr Phono is selected.
On FM it will only be lit when a stereo station is tuned in (and the optional stereo decoder has been fitted).
If one or both IF transistors are bad the signal strength will not be adequate for switching to stereo and the
lamp will not be lit. It should still be lit on tape and phono, though.

If you have no light at all, I would suspect the lamp and/or its socket.

Hello sorry for my poor English...The bulb is ok (tested), the socket has been cleaned, no cut wires, but no green light on any functions...

The plot thickensConfused

Anyway the sound is very clean and warm as it should be with two Grundig 210 HifiBox found at the same market. I will pair it with two Beovox 1000 and a Beogram 1000...

Check that you have -24V on one side of the socket (the Beomaster has a positive ground). The other end of the bulb goes through a 47R resistor, and then to the ground through a couple of the mode switches when in tape or phono function. If the supply voltage is OK at the socket, then I'm pretty sure you'll find a bad connection somewhere along that route.
