I have a Beosound 5 and a BV 10 in the main room. In another room there is a BeoSound 3000. I want to listen to N.RADIO on the Beosound 3000. What are the right option settings? I wanted to put the BS 3000 on option 6, but it doesn't have an option 6…

A.OPT 6 should work on your BS3000, but maybe you have an early one? Does it have the small clamper or the large one?

Maybe a sw update will help...?

It has a large clamper and recent software because it supports N.Music

Hi,

You will need to put your BeoSound 5 into A. Option 0 assuming it's still connected to the BV10 making sure to setup the BS5 to handle N.Music/Radio commands as just that and not the CD or Radio buttons. The BV10 then should be set to V. Option 2. From there connect your BS3000 in the next room and set it to Link Option 6. You will need to also add the soft buttons to the list menu for N. Music and N. Radio if you haven't already done so. Now in the link room using N.Music or N. Radio buttons should pull the content from your BeoSound/Master 5 into the BS3000 provided you have a version with the updated SW and Hardware to handle it.

Ah, you know... A little B&O here, a little there

Thanks All, Have done all the above, except my BS 3000 doesn't accept option 6. Only 0, 1 and 2. Anything else I can do?

BeoMegaMan:

From there connect your BS3000 in the next room and set it to Link Option 6.

Sorry - you can't set an audiosystem to L.OPT !

So how Can I use a BeoSound 5 with N.RADIO in one room and listen to N.RADIO on the BS3000 in the other? I can set the BS 5 to option 6 or make it not Audio Master, but then I can't use Spotify and AUX on it.

Sorry your right A. Option 6 is the right answer. I didn't proof read it.

If your BS has latest sw, it should support A.OoPT 5/6.

your BS5 should be A.OPt 0 and BV10 Must be V.OPT 2.

I'm assuming that you have connected Beolabs to your BS3000.

Yes there are BeoLabs connected to the BS 3000. Also to the BV10. BV10 is in opt2, BS5 in opt 0. BS 3000 accepts only opt 0,1,2. But it is a 3000 with large clamper and the software version that does N.Music. At least it did when the BeoPort was connected to it which I sold get the BS5.

You will need to ML the rooms together. You will also have to pick your battles on what's most important to you because that is a limitation of not making the BS5 a master. You could potentially connect your Aux product to the BS3000 and pull the audio that way. That would really be your only work around for Spotify too unless you use an Apple TV on the BV10 and stream from an iproduct or grab a Playmaker and connect to the TV or BS3000 and again stream to it from a device.

So you want to say a BS 3000 HAS to be audio master? You can't let the BS 5 be the AM and a BS 3000 slave?

This is true to pull the audio from the BS5. You can not distribute CD nor Radio commands to the BS5, only vice versa and assuming you renamed the sources to those from N.Radio and N. Music. So no you can not send CD and Radio to the BS5 from your BS3000. Maybe the better solution if you aren't looking to use CD and Radio on your BS3000 would be to get an active kit.

If your BS3000 supports N.MUSIC does not imply it supports A.OPT 5/6.

Ask your dealer for latest sw.

Btw - my system also works with two audiomasters as stated in several other threads.

BS5 and BS9000 both in A.OPT 0 and videomaster BV7 in V.OPT 2.

My dealer and service center have both told me that my 3000 would need a chip upgrade as well as a software upgrade to add options 5 and 6.

Chip upgrade is a sw update in older products.

I`m paying about 100.- in Euroland - chip and labour.

@Stefan, Can you — in your case with the BS9000 in a.opt 0 — still select n.radio/n.music? Or are they all in the same room anyway?

Yes, sure. I can select CD, RADIO, A.MEM, A.AUX (for BS9000) and N.RADIO, N.MUSIC, A.MEM, A.AUX (for BS5). In some cases I have to press source twice - for example A.MEM. First press activates AUX port (BS9000) second press activates Spotify (BS5). Works from all linkrooms and mainroom.

Both products act as audiomasters with no ir reception, no Beolabs, connected to videomaster.
