Beolink 7000 and day to day use.

Hello guys,

I am currently upgrading my setup.

Swap my Encore for a beosound 5, add a beolab 3500 in the kitchen, and i will receive a white beogram 7000 in the next few days.

I always loved the beolink 7000, but I was wondering if it was convenient to use as a day to day remote. I never had the opportunity to play with one.

I will have to control a beovision 7-40' a oppo bluray via PUC, the beosound 5, the beogram and the link beolab 3500.

IMHO a BL7000 is quite useless, unless you have a main system with two-way remote control. You'd be ripping your hair out once the initial coolness wears out.

Even with a 2-way system, it'll mostly be sitting on its charger looking awesome if you have any other hand held remote to choose from within reach. For example, you can't use the BL7000 "blind" to zap through TV channels. I don't think it will play well with the usual button assignments the PUC controls have, either.

What Mika said. Mine sits in it's cradle for 99,9999% of the time. I only bring it out to "flash"...

BL7000 is a great remote but quite useless with newer products. You have no two way control,  no color buttons, no navigation buttons..

I have two BL7000s in local rooms with a BS7000 and floorstand in one room and a beautiful BC9500 with LCS7000 in another room -

full two way control with displaying clock in STDBY mode.

BTW: How do you control your BG7000 ? You will need an audiomaster with datalink....(?)

I will connect the beogram 7000 directly to the beomaster 5 using one of the USB connection via a 

Phono/Aux Input Adapter for BeoMaster 5 that we found at sounds Heavenly.

My dealer told me it works fine, no need of a beomaster anymore. The beogram will be delivered next week, and the beomaster within 2 weeks.
