I have a pair of BEOLAB 6000 speakers and a Harman Kardon AVR-260. The HK has RCA Pre-Outs on the back (for FL/FR, SL/SR, sub and center).
At the local B&O dealer I was told to use a special cable so I bought a pair of signal adapters (art.nr. 6270795). I've put these in the beolab 6000 speakers and set the switch to 'line'. On the other end of these cables there is a 2 pin DIN male plug. At the B&O dealer they said I had to buy an adaptor for 2 pin DIN to RCA to hook the beolab 6000 to my HK. So I bought a pair of 2 pin DIN sockets (female) with screw terminals. I took an RCA cable with on both ends a RCA plug (male). I've cut off one of the RCA plugs and stripped the cable. I've put the copper wires into the screwed terminals of the socket and then hooked one end (with the RCA plug) to the FL and the FR pre outs of the HK and the other end (with the 2 pin DIN socket) to the 2 pin din plugs of the B&O signal adapters.
In my opinion this is the correct way to connect the beolab 6000 speakers to my AVR?
Now when I play some music or watch tv (tv is also hooked up to HK with HDMI) there comes no sound out of the beolab 6000's. The standby light stays red. So the beolabs get no signal from the HK. The HK has a built in speaker set up menu which can send a test signal to each speaker, when I run these tests the light on the beolabs go green and I can hear the test sound through the speakers. When the test is done the speakers go back to standby and the light is red again.
Could you please advice me what to do?
Thank you in advance!
Joost
Why not use a simple RCA to RCA cable (pre-out to line in of Beolab 6000)???

Thanks but that doesn't work..
Thanks but that doesn't work either. The beolabs then also stay in standby mode (light stays red). I've tried that the first time but because that didn't work I bought the cables at b&o dealer.
You Need to set-up your AVR.
Does it have a microphone to set-up Speakers types distances etc?
I use a Pioneer AVR with Beolabs, see my signature.

Yes it has a mic to set everything up, that's also what I meant in the first post. During automatic set up the AVR sent some test signals to each channel, when testing the front speakers I hear the test signals and the light on the beolabs is green. After automatic set up the lights go red again and they're back in standby mode (and stay in standby).
With manual set up I can exclude all the other channels, the AVR is then set to 2.0 in stead of e.g. 5.1. Front left and Front right are the only two channels I cant turn off but that makes sense, otherwise there would be no speakers at all. When set to 2.0 the AVR sets the crossover of the front left and right automatic to 'large'. That means that all ranges (frequencies) will be sent to the front left and right. That's logical because there is no subwoofer or something like that. It's also not possible for me to change the crossover when in 2.0 mode.
I can't find anything else in my set up menu which relates to the channels or pre outs. There is no option or anything like that to set the speakers to 'active' or to 'activate' the pre outs in the set up menu.

What's that with 'trigger'? My HK AVR-260 has no such thing? My exact problem is that the beolabs aren't triggered to turn on when music is playing. In the set up menu there is also nothing that relates to triggering or something like that.
