Does anyone know if he's a member who's selling this radio on Ebay?

Need a picture of the glass scale that I've ruined. Seems I'm the only one who has such a radio (except for this seller). Still I'm confused of the type I have, is it Beolit 607 AM 1960 or 606K? The type doesn't show on the radio.

I dont think he is a member, but he always has a lot of Beolits for sale, he is on the bays worldwide, and always very expensive

Maybe a member, maybe not ..

This listing is by a member (me)  and whilst it has almost 50 watchers, only four bids.  Plus some odd questions.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130677516850?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

In beoworlders experience, is this watcher/bidder ration common ?   I mainly buy/sell guitar related stuff as a hobby, when the ration is not 10/1...more like 3/1 I would guess.

Probably. I personally add stuff to my watch list (not this one) if I'm interested in seeing what the final price will be. For some odd reason, some people find that offensive.

I'd certainly pop a fuse myself if I had to read questions like in your listing...

I don't mind the questions really - just not something I've experienced before - same with a listing with almost 50 watchers.....just surprised me I guess.   I have a guitar effects pedal listed ( actually with nearly twice the price of the Beolink 7000 ! )  but that has just 8 watchers.  Not 47 !!!!

He's a trier. Good for you for sticking by your guns, nearly every B&O listing I've done I get these questions and it shows how rife it is on eBay. I guess when you start higher value items at 99p start it does encourage this behaviour but it must often work. With good desciption and pictures the final price has always gone way over what anyone has ever offered.

My biggest gripe are questions regarding something that they could easily find in the (simple) listing if only they'd read it.

I once had someone who sent me loads of messages on the legality of selling a Beovision 3 32 without the remote. It must have been 20 messages stating consumer law even though I'm not a business. I needed the Beo4 for my other system but he wasn't having it. In the end I stopped replying.

If you think nobody cares, try missing a couple of payments.

50 watchers would be many for any other remote control but I suppose not uncommon for an item like yours and more
will come in the last days.
Some of them will be interested in bidding and, no doubt, others are merely keeping an eye on the market.
My Ebay listings typically have around 100-200 watchers, it varies a lot and I have noticed more than 600 watchers on certain listings.
A number of watchers equalling about 10% of the page visit number seems to be average.
No matter what, the first bidders, those bidding one, two or five pounds are just there to "lock" the auction so
you can't easily pull it again (or they are just naively hoping to win). The serious bidders usually wait
for the right moment to bid (read: within the last 20 seconds or so).
I get loads of buy-it-now offers too and my response is exactly like yours.

Regarding the Beolit seller; I know who he is but never actually met with him. I don't think he is a Beoworld member.

I've purchased a Beolit 1000 from this seller and it came to me in very nice restored shape.  he sells at a premium but also does restorative work like Frede with his Beolabs (not as thorough by any means but you know it's going to work).  He even knows Frede personally.

He doesn't answer emails very readily but is a nice individual and a great source for radios albeit at a premium.  He even sold me a Beopower for my Beolit 1000 which are very hard to come by.  I don't think he's a member here, however.

By the way, this power adaptor seems extremely big according to beoworld specs ; http://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=1168 (tip: cm)

The Beopower 1000 seems like one of the collectibles I wouldn't pay too much for, however rare... Even the front panel says "Mascot 682", which is a common adjustable power supply. The B&O specific content seems to be the front panel print, output connector and the top cover. Even as such, obviously it is collectible, but... I'm using my Beolit with an SMPS I got from Biltema.

Here's one that nobody bought for 15 euros in a local auction:

And an older, more familiar looking version:

Wow that is amazing. I am looking at the beopower 1000 and cant stop laughing at how they just simply put a din-connector and a new faceplate on it. Would beinteresting if more of theese kinds of "B&O" branded stuff was available. A new thread about it could have been nice if so :)

I have one of those, nice little PSU.

Any ideas where I can get a scan of the B&O- front panel so I can sell it as a Beopower 1000 for a lot of money? Laughing
