Hi all
I have a Beosound 1 that has a CD issue on some discs.
It plays all discs fine, it changes track fine and doesn't miss a step.
But on some CDs there is a rubbing sound like the disc is catching the metal case.
I've tried all types of disc, including new, old & burnt ones and can't seem to find a correlation between them.
Its strange!
Any advice much appreciated.
Hey Rob,
I had the same problem with my Beosound 1 and I noticed that mine was only making the rubbing noise when playing certain CDs that had thicker coats of printing on them.
I know the post is a couple years old, but if you still have your Beosound 1 and haven't found a remedy to the issue yet, or in case anyone else on the forum is having the same issue....
1) Press the load button to open the cd tray.
2) While the tray is open, locate the black hex bolt inside the cd compartment right underneath the tray. If you're facing the back of the unit, it'll be on the right hand side next to hinge arm under the tray.
3) Turn the hexbolt clockwise / counterclockwise to make adjustments to the tray.
* I used a 1/4" mini socket driver with an extension that made it really easy to turn the bolt without hitting any other components in the process. If you don't have the correct size socket or extension, you might be able to use a long nose plier, but just be careful not to hit any of the surrounding components
I forgot to mention that it does not require you to open up the unit to perform the adjustment, which makes it a very easy fix. The hex bolt Is accessible by just pressing the load button and opening the cd tray.
