Hello

Anyone out there who knows what the latest software update for BP-V1 changed/added other than the new start-up logo? I can't find any information about what software changes might have been made, so it might just be some minor changes?

Regards

Jan

Add to that details of all software upgrades available for all products. The decision to upgrade any product, for e.g DVB (consumer) or general software (dealer visit) would be made much easier if B&O provided the details of any improvements to customers rather than shrouding them in mystery.

I couldn't agree more. I'm going to write B&O to see if I can't squeeze some information about the software update out of them.

I thought this happened automatically on-line but the remote control app for IPad tells me to update the software on the TV . Confused.

Confirm for the v1 Wi-Fi that it´s much more stable after the recent update.

Keith,

Why is is this information kept from general consumers? Or is there some outlet (web site?) where we can glean it?

B&O has always run a very controlled business environment and expects B&O dealers to supply such information where required, but most dealers either do not have the time or do not keep themselves up to date with the various changes mainly because there are so many.

They have always come from the principle that the customer should not need to know about such things, I guess that is where B&O and I disagree..

In my view, B&O gives their dealers a lot of extra work by not providing such data via their public web site, but they are likely to say that they want customers to visit the dealerships with their problems, which is fine, if there is one near you !! Whilst most dealers provide good customer/technical service they are fundamentally trying to sell products and it can be very time consuming for them to answer technical questions not linked to previous or future product sales.

B&O have made their business decision on this subject and whilst many may disagree with it, they are unlikely to change particularly with the on-going reduction in headcount.

I have the BV11 and use the Homemedia function quite a lot to watch .mkv movies. The BV11 has never been able to show subtitles (e.g. .srt or .sub) but a couple of days ago it worked on one movie. Has anyone noticed this? Was this part of the latest SW update?

In general. Not every customer  needs an update. Only the one who has problems. These normaly ask the dealer for a solution, which will provide, if available, an update.

If every customer is provided with knowledge about the software updates, does that mean that the dealer has to visit every time each client to provide an (new released) update? Some devices can be updated via internet, but others not. Who's paying for the extra time which dealers spend to (unnessesary ?) update the device?

There have been several discussions about who is going to pay for the expenses? Who is going to pay for "just the idea of being up to date"?

I think this story has 2 sides, one for the custumer and one for the dealer. I only know that a dealer rather needs to sell in stead of running around to earn his monthly income.

Hey Guys,

does anybody know what changes were made to the software with update 1.0.5.33981?

Software was released on 10th of January 2014

Update v1.0.5.33981 corrected a few bugs, notably those that occurred after the last update which produced some problems at startup.

Several problems that occurred when watching videos on NAS server were also corrected.

I have the latest sw update from May 2014 installed and still can't see any subtitles .srt with .mkv movies. Can anyone confirm?

I am not using the MediaPlayer on my V1-32 much for videos.

But a couple of weeks ago I watched a .mkv movie - with working subtitles.

I don't think the v1/bv11 can handle .srt or .sub yet (unfortunately). However, they can read "hardcoded" subtitles in .mkv ( but then there's still the issue that you have to fast fwd or back to get it to show correctly.

On swiss TV channels SRF1 and SRF2 I still see a black screen for 1-2 seconds when HBBTV pops up. I am running software version: A3.1.0.6.35496.

Thanks for posting.

My V1 hadn't got it, but a search showed the update - and I could download it.

I guess the updated (version 2.0) BeoRemote is not out yet - but that can't take long.

Looking forward to see, how the integrated Program Guide works - that could make it more than just a software remote.

And also looking forward to hear from those who have more than one BSys4-based tv NL-linked together.

What does the update improve concerning sharing sources over the network!

Well, I did the update this morning on two of my televisions. I did not notice any difference. I also did not note the home control button to work I'm wondering if there might be some updates to blgw that is also require that I have not yet received. I did not notice any difference in the linking of sources as I link my audio through a NLML a converter anyway. If I am able to make any of these other things work I shall report back. I am anxious to see what the app does as well. I think we will see two way on the Beolink app in the coming months as well. Then we should have to a feedback on the iPhone or other device for shades curtains lights, etc.

Let's hope that with Beoremote 2.0, B&O has implemented what can be done by Loewe TVs (and some set top boxes) for years : program a recording just by clicking on the EPG on your Phone/Tablet, at home or anywhere in the world... (I think that's the only feature really useful since my iPad is linked to my set-top box, with the ability to play aerial TV on the iPad from the set-top box)

We used eyeTV to get that - and found it irritating rather than useful .... too much lag because of the real time encoding

I updated my V1 and Avant55 today and now the Avant crashes when I go to home media. The Avant crashes with a loud click in all external speakers and my left BL9 is now glowing yellow.

It has happened before, that home media makes the V1 (at least) crash after update but I can't remember how I resolved it. I tried resetting the network settings but that didnt help (I think that is what I did last time). Now I am keeping the system plugged out for a few minutes.

I just turned 30 a few minutes ago and wanted to watch a movie using the feature on my very expensive B&O gear. So happy birthday to me, in the dark :)

Just tried pushing a movie from my NAS to the Home Media of my V1.

No crashing here - seems pretty normal so far.

There was a beolink gateway update as well.

Does anyone know the current version of the blgw software?

I think mine is stuck on an old version.

I did find the link to other NL products. You can link to two other NL products.

Pretty nice little feature but realistically not that useful UNLESS you don't have an audio product on the system in which case the link could be to an avant n.radio and give you music across an entire system.

I connect to a bs5 through the NL/ml converter so I don't have a need for the connections honestly for an audio only.

Now video transfer... That'd be a new one!

After the V1 update, the sound disappeared on all sources. Had to do a mains reset to get everything work normally.

As many of you, impatient to test the updated App.

I didn't notice the bass.

I did get the blgw updated though.

The automation on screen is nice.

Why use a touch panel from crestron for 5k when you can have a television there?

I like the automation additions.

I'm getting used to the "extra bass" but (after ages of not touching a thing) will have a look at the sound settings to put a notch down.

Do you have a beolink gateway?

If so, press the home control button on your beoremote one.
