Hey guys would love some help as I'm looking to buy  the Playmaker. Here is my scenario as I would like some advice , as the title says I rang around today and got so man different answers in how to link my system up , here goes.

I have a set of 8000 speakers connected to my B&O 3200. All is well.

I have since purchased a new Sony Bravia 6Oinch LED. I would like to connect my speakers into my speakers and still be able to use the 3200.

Four stores around Australia told me it can't be done.

One store said to run it through the TV headphone jack into the rear of my 3200

One store said to run an RCA cable from my TVs Audio out ( single 3.5mm jack , no optical , no Red/ White plug) into the 3200 ( same as above pretty much)

Finally one store recommended the following. RCA out from the TV into the two points of the Playmaker. Leave the speaker and 3200 plugged in as is. From the 3200 purchase a Din 8 ( RJ45 cable to RJ45 cable) plug one end into the Playmaker. With the other end remove the middle pin ( making it a 7 pin ) plug this into the 3200s Aux port

It's been pretty tricky getting a straight answer and if the final result will actually work.

I just wanted to avoid running a cable from my TV hanging on the wall to my 3200 as it looks messy being a big distance and and wanted to avoid usin the headphone jack as I may have to enter the headline menus to turn up the volume.

There were a few other ideas regarding optical cables but neither my TV or 3200 ( that I can see ) have optical ( TV 100% does not ).

the other idea I was tossing up was just buying Apple Airport Express. But I'm a little stumped on how I would plug this into my TV and get my speakers still hooked up to my 3200 to play.

Futhure more I have been told there is a new Playmker on its way available for order now.

So really I have no idea how to proceed. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Steve

don't get frustrated, it's an easy task and possible. Smile

If you just want the TV-audiosignal and a Playmaker routed to your BS 3200 you can connect it this way:

TV-Audio-out --> Playmaker Line-In --> BS3200 AUX-In.

The TV just needs a 3,5mm stereo plug, the BS3200 Aux-In needs a 5-Pin-DIN-Plug (Audio in and out).

In case you don't want to have cables hanging around you should use a wireway in white/aluminium or whatever color your wall and floors have or use a wireless solution like e.g. EMU pipeline (which should be cheap to get as it is no longer produced:
http://www.creative.com/emu/products/product.aspx?pid=18609

But beware that wireless solutions have a latency of the audio signal because it has to be converted into a digital signal, transmitted, and reconverted to analog! This might lead to "lipsync" issues which means that the audio signal is not synchron with the lips moving on the screen while people talking.

Hi Steve,

What is the model of the Sony TV and what state/city do you live in?

Hi Steve,

this thread might help you:

http://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/6740.aspx

You will only get sound out of of your Sony tv, if you use the 'headphone out' connection (not recommended though), and you may have to turn off the sound from the internal speakers due to latency problems.

If you want to use the 'digital out' sound connection via a DAC, you must use one that supports Dolby Digital - and (bad!) you will have lipsync issues (as TWG already noted).

If you don't want use the DLNA/AirPlay functions of the PM, you don't really need it - just connect the 'headphone out' to the 'AUX IN' of the 3200 via 'minijack to 5 pin din-adapter'.

Another possibility could be using one of these:

http://eu.beo-parts.eu/beo/powerlink-switch.html

One connection from your tv headphone out and the other from the PL of your 3200 - and your BL8000 attached to the output of that box.

I am quite sure Steve at Sounds Heavenly can help with any 'cable question'!

Greetings Millemissen

P.S. or this one:

For expanding the AUX-IN of your 3200 - one input for the tv, one input for the Playmaker and one for....free.

There is a tv - and there is a BV

When Airplaying to an Apple TV the latency is about 3 seconds. Is it much different on the PlayMaker? I think it would be like watching a badly dubbed film! I reckon AUX in and hiding the cable would be the best bet.

I think ill just go with the 3.5mm jack into the 3200 through the AUX

This will work best as i dont need the DLNA of the PM

thanks heaps really appreciate it
