I have bought a Bosscom dimmer. This dimmer should work exactly the same as an B&O LC2 dimmer. What surprisses me that for me the light controll does not have the remote controll feeling that I expect from B&O. For example when I want to shut down the light I have to press <light> <stop> button. I would expect that the red dot button would be used for shutting down the light. Also for shutting down all B&O equipment. I would expect that holding down the red dot button for a while will shut down all the B&O equipment instead of shutting down only the audio and video equipment.I also had expected that there would be a setting for the dimmmer so that it can be used as an on/off switch for lamps that can not be dimmed.
And does anybody have an idea why B&O stopped with producing light controlls

the B&O LC2 dimmer will be switched of with <LIGHT> followed by <STOP> just like your Bosscom dimmer so it works correct.
Why they stopped the production of the LC2? Probably one or more parts were no longer available.

I've read (on this forum I believe) that production was stopped because of some EU regulation(s). As others have now entered this market, if this reason is correct then I can't see why B&O couldn't have adapted the LC2 to conform. Perhaps the reason is a bit of an urban myth.
Leaving that aside, I think B&O stopping production was one of their most ridiculous decisions.
The LC1 too.
I suppose they stopped, as they went into homeautomation (MLGW) including lightcontrol of 3part companies.
And the change from two-way to one-way ir-communication made it impossible to control all light in a house.
Still have several LC1's working - can't live without them.

That it works the same as with the normal LC2 does not mean it is correct. I think it is working stupid and not in line with B&O's philosophie ease of operating controll.
The LC2 can be programmed to use as just an on/off switch. Read the mania but I believe the sequence for a Beo4 is:
(while touching the dome) - LIGHT - SETUP (through LIST) - 0 - STORE (through LIST) - 3
and to go back to dimmable you replace the 3 with a 4.
If you want the functionality you described you should buy a Beo5/6. They can be programmed to exactly the way you want it.

The reason i get from b&o was RoHS and it would have been to expensive to change in Product line for that
and maybe Lc2 was not Selling so good to do that investment ?

It is a real shame that the third party setups are not cheaper. Lutron and Bosscom specific B&O dimmers/ switches are very expensive in comparison to the non Lutron B&O version.
