Can any of you Beolab 5 owners give me some tips on moving the Beolab 5's around? I have to move the speakers from my main floor to the lower level and I want to make sure that I'm careful not to damage them. I certainly realize that I'll have to get some help due to their weight. Where is the best place to grab on to the speakers?Any advice would be much appreciated.
They are supposed to be lifted under the big/lower disc. You'll even find a cavern for your fingers to grip, so that you don't slip.

I strongly recommend to have some help if you move them to a different floor without the use of an elevator: It takes two persons to move a BL5 in a staircase.

Any move of BL-5 speakers to another room is a two-person job. They're easy to grab hold of under the larger disc with the finger grooves, but the bell shape of the speaker makes it hard to walk with them. You have to kind of waddle with little baby steps. :-)

There is a tv - and there is a BV
I've thought about this as well as when I finally get them, I want them in the basement.
I plan on putting them on a dolly/two wheeled hand truck. There will be some soft of padding between the speaker and dolly so there isn't direct contact between the two. Then, I plan on putting a rubber hold-down cable around the speaker post (below the lowest disc) to hold it to the back of the dolly.
Hopefully, it will then be straightforward to wheel the speaker around. Just make sure if you try this that the dolly is designed to handle the weight. I broke a borrowed one trying to move a cast-iron radiator. I then went to Lowes and bought two: one for me and one for the person who owned the one that I broke!
