Hi,
I've found this site and hope that someones expertise can help me??
My father recently passed away and amongst his things was a Becord 8000. When we plug it in there is a small red light/dot but nothing else on the display and so therefore is not working. Apart from that it looks in fantastic condition.
Please can you advise if this is fixable? We have no idea of value, if we put on Ebay please could somebody advise a price i should aim for and also if we should sell as parts/spares etc.
Many thanks in advance for your guidance.
This is normal behaviour for a Beocord 8000 - the red dot illuminates when it is plugged in to show that it is in standby mode. What happens when you put a cassette in and press play?

Yes - Vellis - You definitely needs to put a cassette in it and test it. If you want to put it on eBay, you must at least tell if it's working or not...
If it's 'dead' and only the red dot is on, no matter which button you press, it is still possible to repair it - it depends on how much you want to spend on it... But don't ask a B&O dealer - they don't want to touch any device thats over 10 years old...You can sell it as spareparts/defect - but I doubt you'll get much money.
