Thanks for the link ! Fabrics are nice but legs are awfull ! Wood with Plastic ! B&O should deliver color legs of aluminium ! Is not B&O specialised in aluminium ?
There is another thread about the A9:

How much would aluminium legs cost, most people wouldn't want to pay it and if you do get them from stbbrackets.
There's no plastic, the leg ends are painted

B&O has at least as long heritage with beautiful woodwork than it has with aluminum.
Personally I greatly prefer the wooden legs. Every product or design idea cannot please everybody. If they did, they would be completely average by definition.

👍
There is currently only one product in the full portfolio that has (just a small bit) of wood. This wood part disappears completely if you have a wall mount. Is that already too much for you Beoboy68? Just stop complaining about that, in every thread about the A9. If you want aluminum products, you have a full choice of almost every B&O and Beoplay products. And if you want a A9 with aluminum legs, it is available at STB.
And do you remember that Beoplay is not Bang & Olufsen ? If they have launched a second brand, it's not to do exactly what the first brand is doing... 50s' wooden legs are totally hype nowadays (just look at an Ikea shop), let's Beoplay use them.
B&O is not a museum for beolab 8000 + beosound 9000 nostalgics, it's a living brand with forward thinking designers...

Is it just me or is it just pure coincidence that B&O has taken the advice that I posted online last yr to heart by participating more in fashion and design?
Great job on the design! Definitely getting the color kit! Makes me wonder whether I should submit my design to B&O for serious consideration after all I did suggest a limited edition kit last year...
To think I was trashed in the forum for my "crazy" ideas.
Perhaps it is time to put my thoughts into action but I think this endeavour is best left after my art debut.

Design is a discipline on it's own and the lines between good and bad designs are thin as hair. So don't be disencouraged, I'd really like to see that design of yours as I obviously haven't.
The wood legs are definitely a part of a classic mid-century design aesthetic that B&O is deliberately going for with a lot of the Play devices. They are perfect for the image and look I think. The V1, which I at first didn't like in pictures, in person has a techno-Bauhaus look that I find quite attractive. Not traditional B&O perhaps, but refreshing and stylish IMO. I hate to admit it, but both the A9 and V1 would look great in my house, perhaps better than some of the traditional gear.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.

You always seem to be hours ahead of your time.
Me always excites when people discuss who have never seen the A9 or have belonged. I have to me this share granted for my holiday apartment. The following reasons for the decision. 1. I had to transport the part by the airplane - here I lay with 23 kg and 1 package completely in the limit. 2. I wanted a modern solution (Streamen). 3. the various connection possibilities. 4 the usual B&o sound. Cover has 5. various creation possibilities (in white, brown and blue - feet in teak). It is planned the A9 with "Olive One" (already ordered) to feed. At the moment I have connected a server NAS and Sat Receiver (for TV and radio) by RCA. I am very contented with it. Clear at the beginning I had to feel nice the A9 only "" - it went for me with my BL5 also - but now I would not like to miss both any more

Other way around for me. These new 'sky' fabrics are awful, legs are fine. Most Danish dining room chairs ship with the same wood. See the Eames plastic chair with wooden legs, as a classic and famous example http://img3.wfrcdn.com/lf/47/hash/17316/5818390/2/Vitra-Eames-DSW-Plastic-Side-Chair.jpg
Thanks for the link. I think they look great, especially with the wooden legs.
The use of wood, and the casing at the bottom, is a nod to leading Scandinavian furniture design of the 60s, and gets my full fanboy approval.
When Jacob Jensen joined B&O, the company had some of the best fine carpenters in the world. While Jensen would embrace glass and aluminium, he made a wonderful transition where he incorporated wood into his designs, to great effect, pushing the carpenters to continue their fine joinery, but with elegant results.
Now, what the stores need, are wonderful posters of the iconic B&O products of earlier times, to demonstrate to new buyers what the brand's heritage is all about.

A time machine is obviously being used. Legendary retroactive design powers.
