Dear forum members,
I ripped a cd yesterday and copied it to my USB key which I use with my Beosound 5 encore.
Although the metadata for each of the ripped music numbers specify an artist, BS5E categorize the album under various... I don't understand how that is possible, as various appears nowhere in the metadata.
Can someone help?
Regards
Jesper
When there are different artists on an album, the BS5E categorize it as "various artists".
That's great, because otherwise, on the cover viw (which is sorted by artists) and on the artists view, each compilation would appear as many times as there are different artits in it. What a mess!
If you don't like the "various artists" naming, you can choose to make one artist appear (and keep all the individual artists taging) by using the "Albumartist" field in your tags.

iTunes tends to do that, and you're right it's a royal PITA and requires a bit of effort to undo.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
