Beovision 7-40 3D

Hello beoworlders,

I am curently struggling with the choice of a new TV.

I search the forum, old and new, found a lot of posts, in German, wonderfull language that i do not know (plan to learn it since I need it for my job)

I own an Oppo blu-ray player, the bdp-93eu 3D, and I hesitate with the following :

Beovision 7-40 ' that will be connected to my beomaster 7000 driving a pair of beolab 4000.

Other brand plasma screen, (panasonic seems to be the right choice for the moment)

Waiting till end of may, for the new beovision V1 that will be issues under the beoplay range

If you could give me some more "non commercial advices" and experience return on the 7-40' I would appreciate.

I am not so happy with image quality of the oppo player, i hope it will be better on a BO Screen.

Hi erandlux can i ask why your not happy with your oppo bluray player? and also have you played around with the settings on the player regarding output resolution etc... oppo bluray players are supposed to be very good. Have you set it to output at 1080p?? i have read also that they are very good at upscaling normal dvds to.

I was expected a really better image quality from the OPPO, even with normal blu-ray. I did not notice a lot of differences with my previous bluray, a Phillips bdp 7500.

I have seen one in the BO store connected to a beovision 12' and it was really damned good. Of course, a BV 12 is higly better than my sony kdl40-lx900' (wich is 1080p 24 compatible for blu-ray), but I Am a bit disapointed.

I played with the settings, HDMI cable is a good 1.4 version, and I finally think that the problem is the TV, i would just like to test the oppo with a beovision 7 to be sure.

The network facility is great, reading all video files from my NAS, is really nice, I don't need my little Lacie anymore, and for that usage, the oppo is clearly above the Common multimedia readers.

Are you using the HDMI 1 output on the Oppo?

This uses the superior QDEO DE 2750 video processor which the HDMI 2 output does not.

Have you checked the upscaling ability of your TV by setting the Oppo to output a SD DVD at it's original resolution ('Source Direct' ),then comparing image quality by setting the Oppo's output resolution to 1080p?

Comparing Blu-ray playback is probably a wasted exercise.

Given the Oppo 93/95's superb PQ,there is a possibility that you have a faulty machine.

Can you not compare yours against another at the retailer from which you bought it?

I am using the HDMI 1 , and i will try as you mention the native resolution against the upscaling.
