I'm wondering if it is possible to convert the .xml files to control third parties into a .dec file, which can be uploaded with the Service Tool into the PUC list.
Or alternatively, create the .dec file using for example the Lintronic device to get the IR codes.

Both are possible and some years ago I wrote a Windows based programme which takes a DEC file and converts it to a DIRECT XML file.
Without writing a program it is still possible to translate an existing XML file into a DEC file manually using a text editor, but it is very very time consuming and complex.
Getting the IR codes for a third party product is the relatively easy bit, formatting it correctly into a DEC format file is what takes the time without a programme.

When B&O produce an PUC library file they actually produce two files, the DEC file used by the Dealers Service Tool which is downloaded to the BeoVision PUC and an associated XML file which is used by the Beo5/6 configuration tool.
However, there are situations where you may need to modify a DEC file to say replace one or more commands which also requires a change to the XML file.
There are also situations where a customer wants to control a product not in the B&O PUC library and B&O are not planning to implement it. You can send a STB and pay B&O to do this, but this all takes time and money.
So, whilst the requirement does not happen that often, there is a requirement from time to time.

Well, I need the .dec file to control the Humax TN5050 HDR device. There are plenty of Humax decoders in the PUC list, but no one has all the functions than the TN5050, which may not necessarily be a problem, but in that case, they all lack some essential commands (eg, possibility to access the recorded video files, change day to see the coming programs in the program guide menu etc.)
I'm aware that I could send the STB to Danemark, but since I have the Lintronic and therefore can get all the IR commands and save them in an xml file, I thought there is way to convert them easily in a .dec file. Possible, but not easy if I understand you correctly. Well, I'm not afraid of the "time consuming" part, but you mentioned some "complexicity"; you mean it requires an expert knowledge? I wouldn't mind learning it, but perhaps it's far off my possibilities?

@Keith: I know all that probably better than anyone here. I am just saying that if the .xml file was made the right way, that there is also a .dec file.

let me add my needs as a brand new member of this forum (which is great btw):
Im a proud owner of a Beoplay V1-40 for a couple of weeks and have a Bluray Panasonic DMP-BDT130 connected via PUC and IR-blaster. I choosed the Panasonic DMP-BDT210 from the actual PUC list via internet.
Everyhing works fine except for the power-off behavior. I configured the Panasonic on HDMI1 as 'Power Off when TV standby'. If the Panasonic is already off while i watched TV and switch off the TV, then the Panasonic is switched on. This is, because the V1 sends only a power-toggle command, not an explicitly Power-Off command.
Discussion with my local dealer ends in an offer of €500,- to adapt the PUC file....
My question is:
Is someone in this forum able to adapt the existing PUC-file (which should be an existing DEC-Format that i don't have) and put the discrete Power-off code in the place where the Power-toggle code appears when switching off the V1?
If yes, could it be done for less than €500?
My goal is to keep the Beo4 as the operating RC.
I attached both power-on and power-off codes as raw-format which was tested via a Beo5.

Update:
As i am going a little deeper into the config of the Panasonic-BD, i found out, that the default settings has an option checked which was named "speed start". It seems, that this option doesn't switch off the Player completely, so the Beoplay V1 with its HDMI sensing thinks the player is on. In that case the V1 sends the power toggle command and the Player switches on.
If the speed start setting is checked to off, the Player needs around 20s to wake up, but now the switch off procedure works as from B&O assumed, either you choose in the PUC-settings of the V1 "switch off at standby" or "switch off at source changing".

Yeah, that is a problem PUC has with a lot of HDMI boxes these days. Irritating!

Is there a program now available allowing conversion of an XML file into a DEC file? If not how difficult is it to do it manually via a text editor. A few years ago, my dealer (he since left B&O) showed me how to do it, but stupidly I didn't take any notes It didn't seem to me very complicated, but of course you had to take out from the XML file the right info and put it in the right place in the DEC file.
