I see that a fellow member is selling his 8000 on eBay. Looking at the bidding (£500 with a day left) I suspect this one might realise the best price ever for one of these?
Hi Cleve,
I know I'm preaching to the converted with you as far as this amp goes, but it really is the Rolls Royce of Beomasters. I've owned most of them and this is the best amp B&O ever made in my opinion.
It will be interesting to see where it ends up. At the moment I have no plans to sell mine, but if values hit the grand mark then I might reconsider. Problem then would be finding another one when the inevitable regret sets in...
I still harbour dreams of a 4500 system on the wall, with a Beolink 7000 and some Beolab 1s, so we may well see in time.
Cheers for the positive remarks folks! I was a little disappointed it stopped at 500, when I consider the hours I have put into the thing, and what I purchased it for in the first place; I am probably about break-even. However, I know it is going to a good home with someone who will appreciate it, not too far away from me!
I know one sold for about £1400 believe it or not! Really was Mint in box, one owner, all paperwork, and again all fully serviced. I know this, because I sold it to the reseller, who then nearly tripled my asking price! I think that example now resides in Europe somewhere.I have actually got a couple more 8000's, but non are in great condition so I think they will get stripped and re-capped parts sold on. I actually owe Chartz a CPU module which will be winging its way up to France soon :-)

Well done anyway. I had a feeling it would kick on after being at £500 for a day or so.
I sold a 6000 Quad a while back and that went from £300 to £700 in the final 5 seconds because there were two guys desperate to out-do each other. I guess had you had that situation then you could have added another £300+ easily.
£1400 seems a lot for a 8000. Boxes are nice (I have mine) but at the end of the day they're only useful for moving, which most people tend not to do very often anyway!
It was a 'hi end' website that sold it in the end, took a few months to shift I think, not surprisingly at that price though!
Hi Olly!
Step1: I actually owe Chartz a CPU module which will be winging its way up to France soon :-)

How thoughtful of you! You don't owe me anything though...but the module will be welcome, thanks!
Glad to know that the Beomaster has found a good house even if the price was not what you had expected.
