Hi situation,

First try to disconnect all from the mains - then reconnect the BV and the BS....

...and finally the converter!

Do you have a ML-splitterbox in your setup?

Ohh okey :-) But no i dont.

i use a Datalink kabel from beomaster 7000 and up to the 1611 converter.

and then Masterlink kabel from 1611 to the bv8-40 masterlink in

Well, I actually meant a 'Junction Box', which is the correct name for the little box you use to split one ML cable into 2 or more. Quite often reasons can be found in a faulty connection there.

Anyway, assuming you have no no speakers on the BS7000 in that room, the options are:

Video - opt2

Audio - opt0

Please reed the userguide of the BV8-40 for details - page 36.

If you still have problems try changing the ML cable and/or the AUX cable.

Must ask:

You only ever talk about CD.

Is the problem only with CD, or also with radio...?

Do you have external BeoLabs on the BV8?

if yes - is it there, when you use the internal BV8 speakers only.

Do you have any problems with the sound from the BV8 (and the attached sources)?

do not use radio :-) but beyond that I have forgotten to say that bs7000 does not turn on when I press the CD but only the Bv8 and then the beolab penta and BL2 turns one too like they need to do .. And then the humming sound comes right after

Next thing -  I would change that converter - if you have access to another.

Are you sure that you use a 7 pin datalinkcable connected to TV/AUX on BM7000 and AUDIO AUS LINK socket on 1611?

And did you try an additional Poerlink cable connected to PL/BM7000 and PL/converter?

Your system is set to V.OPT2 and A.OPT0?

When you select another audiosource - same result? (Asked before but ...)

????

Sure - it might work!

I`d recommend to search in the old forum and have a look at the PCG.

Can be downloaded here on Beoworld.

I guess you will find exact this information....

There is no need for the PowerLink cable running parallel to the AUX cable.

Only gain is that you can turn on the sound from the videosystem, when you start a source manually on the audiosystem, and that the audiosource shuts down, when you switch to a videosource (with the Beo4).

I have had a similar setup for years (actually for decades now) - at first with an Avant and now with a BV8-40 as videomaster, and never got the PL cable connected.

No problems there - on the contrary: I can plug in my headphones to the audiosystem, start the audiosource and turn up/down the volume manually without switching the videosystem on.

I must say that I am at a point where I don't understand, where the problem in the 'situation-setup' can be located.

Next thing I would do is swapping the audiomaster with another. But not everyone has a 'spare' MCL-based audiosystem at hand Crying

Noise in the audio and no control sounds like a cabel issue to me... Are you sure all the cables are properly in their sockets?

I have asked that - but I still wonder if it is so?
