I have an early BV Avant with VCR.
There is power to the TV at the end of the 2 pin power lead but the set is completely dead and does not respond to any of the Beo4 controls nor the selection of controls on the back of the set.
I think there may be an internal fuse to check but I do not know where this is located.
Can anyone help me.
Thanks.
Hi John
Firstly Check your plug fuse, I know this may sound obvious. Then is there the red standby light? When you press a command eg TV, VAUX, etc is there any responce from the set display eg does the red led turn to green for a brief moment or does it just stay red?
Regards Maurice
Also, sorry to state the obvious, but have you checked the hidden on/off button under the right hand corner of the screen?

Good point, although it may not be the answer in this case. When I had a BV3 I accidentally switched it off with this hidden button. Very relieved when I 'discovered' it!
Thanks so much. Problem gone away much to my embarrassment. I didn't even know the button was there and it must have been accidentally switched off when the TV was moved recently by an electrician.

Don't you just love this forum? So many friendly helpful people and no-one judges you when they come up with a solution such as this. So many of us tend to panic when our prized B&O seems to go wrong, but everyone has a helpful suggestion and sometimes it really is as simple as a "hidden" button being pressed without you knowing. No one thinks you are foolish, they just love to help.
Well done guys, keep it up!

I can't believe it, I have just had the same problem. I didn't even know the red power button was there, our 2 year old must have turned it off.
Very, very relieved - Thanks (was just about to take it to the tip)
