Hello everyone,
I am writing this post as a student in business administration. I am currently working on my master’s dissertation and focusing on the impact some emblematic products had business wise on the audio world.
Bang & Olufsen is a prominent audio company and has produced some of the most successful products on the market for the past 90 years, trying to combine excellence and design.
I am particularly interested in the Beocenter 2300 family: it has come to my understanding that this line of products was quite important for Bang & Olufsen during the 2 decades it was in production.
If I was able to find the price of those devices and to track its evolution throughout the years until the line stopped being in production, I find it difficult to find any conclusive data on the importance it had money wise for the brand.
Indeed, I need this information (number of sales, the evolution of this number, if possible the share those sales represented at the time in the company’s turnover) in order to write a study that I want as thorough as possible.
If you cannot answer my questions, could you tell me where to start looking ?
Thanking you in advance,
Best regards,
Guthriefan
Ummm, B&O?
Too long to list....
Yes, this is where I started. But apparently due to the large number of questions they receive each day they were unable to provide me with any conclusive answer..
Well, we are a B&O user group, meaning quite simply that we are a group of B&O users. We don't have any access to any official figures, or anything else that wouldn't be publicly available anyway. If you have already gone through the official channels at the company and didn't get the response you were wishing for, I'm afraid we can't help you any further. We certainly don't possess any product specific sales figures.

Well, I am sure anyone in my shoes would have considered it worth a try. Thank you for your answer anyway.
I can guess it's a long shot since companies of B&O size usually don't give out much info, but since you are writing a masters your sources weigh in heavily. Perhaps try writing B&O a real letter. Don't bother their customer service as it's rubbish.
Quoting your source as an "internet forum" could even get your masters paper disqualified....

That was much better advice than my post
I suspect the company will not release any figures that you wouldn't find in the financial reports already, but it's of course worth a try.
There might be something in the book "The Breaking Point" (I've never read it), but it was anyway published mostly before the time span you were interested in.
Thank you for your answers :) I will check this book just in case and try the letter.
