Hi all,
Just a quick question: I've heard that a plasma screen will be damaged if transported laying on its back or front . Can it be transported laying on either side, for instance a BV 5 laying on one side ( in a proper package of course..) ?
Any other considerations I need to think about before buying a plasma TV 600 km away?

I've heard stories about plasmas broken because of improper shipping.
When I transported my BV5 and BV9 it was always standing upright.
Too long to list....
I had a Beovision 5 transported to me flat on its back with the stand removed. It travelled 1000kms on a pallet and arrived in perfect shape!

The weight of quality !
Enjoy your plasma.
And a piece of art, what a joy to look at! But to be honest, my Avant RF has a much better picture quality than the BV5's I have now.

The manufacturers always recommend that plasma's are transported upright.
Recommended is that plasma's are transported upright but when you do it right you can also place it on his backsite, with pillows, blanket's on the screensite and secure it so it cannot move from one to the other site.......
The issue with plasmas has been the weight of the glass which cracks if horizontal and gets a jolt. This is why vertical shipping is important Newer screens are made of plastic - so shouldn't be so temperamental.
