Hi everyone,
My Beogram 9500 is out of order : the MMC-2 cartridge is broken.
As it is quite impossible to find a new MMC2 cartridge for a reasonable price, is it possible to use another model of cartridge? MMC4 or 5 for example?
Thanks in advance for your answers,
Marc
Hello Leman - welcome to Beoworld.
You can get your MMC2 restorated at http://www.schallplattennadeln.de/
The common issue is that the rubber suspension hardens and causes mistracking, distortion and the cantilever may even fall off the cartridge body. Axel Schürholz changes the suspension and cantilever, so the cart functions like a new one.
Otherwise, you can use any cartridge from the MMC X series - though there is a great risk that they won't work either.

Thank you for your answer. I also found this website. Does someone have heard of it?

Hi,
i used this website one time, ( not for a B&O stylus ), and i had no problem.
What i bought came quickly to my house, and was what i wanted.

Merci, je pense également que le bras tangentiel se pose trop à l’extrémité du disque. Même si je répare la cellule, une visite de contrôle chez BO s'imposera (j'avais déjà réglé la position du bras au maximum à l'intérieur du disque...)
Thank you, I also think that the tangential arm poses too at the end of the disc. Even if I fix the cartridge, a check will be needed in BO (I had already set the position of the arm up inside the disk ...)
