Today I replaced the belt on my Beogram 1000, so therefore I had to remove the plate and all that. It works flawless now, though I'm having a bit of a problem getting the spindle adapter back in place (which also holds the little plastic plate in place as well). The problem is that I can't seem to get the two disks (shown in pic) back into place, which holds the spindle adapter and plastic plate in place. The holes are much smaller than the pin they're mounted to, and how am I to get the weird disk (marked one on my pic) back in place since it isn't rounded. I know that these to disks were there from the beginning, it was hell getting them off. So what should I do, anyone have a clue?
The locking ring (number 1 in your photo) goes on first.A locking ring tool is the best thing for this task but something else could also be used to pry it abit open while lowering it down over the spindle.
Next the black plastic "jukebox" center adapter and finally it's round spring (number 2 in your photo). Yes, it's a springand you can fit it back by pressing it down with two fingernails. With the center adapter in its down position, the springshould sit just below flush with the centers surface.
And now is not a good time to tell you that you didn't have to take off the platter to replace the belt, is it ?Put the new belt on from above, just fit it around and let it slip under the platter.Flip over the chassis and with the aid of a small homemade tool, shaped as a small hook, catchthe belt and lift it to the idler wheel. First time takes 10-15 minutes and when you get the idea 2-3 minutes.
