Hello gentlemen,
I am thinking about acquiring a Beolab 11 or a Beolab 2 to complement my surround setup. What I have is two Beolab 8000 as fronts, two Beolab 6000 as surrounds and two Beolab 4000 as centers - they are all connected through a Cambridge receiver together with a noname subwoofer.
I have understood that some people argue that the Beolab 11 is better if I prioritze music (for which I only use my BL8000) and the Beolab 2 is better for movies. However, I have also understood that some argue that it is just a matter of placement / configuration and that the Beolab 2 is superior.
What do you recommend, I cannot say I have a preference for music or movies and price is about the same as well?
Also, is it possible to connect them to the line input on my Cambridge (would I need a trigger cable for this?)?
Best regards,
Martin

I have a Beolab 2 with Beolab 3 for music and am loving it. There were postings here aout blind tests where people had a hard time differentiating Beolab 5 versus Beolab 3/2 combo so to say its too boomy for music may depend a lot on the type of recording your listening too.
I am eying a BL11 to combine with a pair of Beolab 4 but haven't heard that yet.
The Beolab 2 can go way deeper and has higher output so for Surround in a larger room thats probably it.
My understanding was from the new products thread that a new sub is on the way, middle of October we should see it.
Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.
Hi.
My opinion is that the BL2 is by far superior to the BL11. The Beolab 11 may add that extra to your Beovision 10, Beolab 4. But if you are serious about movies and music the Beolab 2 and alot of time tuning it in will give you the better experience.
I used to have Beolab 3 and the Beolab 2 and it sounded great. But you cant compare them to the Beolab 5. To my ears the BL3+BL2 sounded better then a pair of 9 though.
With 8000's a BL2 is the only way to go. I tried a BL11 and it made no difference at all.
Thanks for all opinions - Beolab 2 seems to be the way to go!
