I'm currently on a business trip and had some time to go to BO shop in Luzern, Switzerland.
The vendor told me that the beosound 8 with Airplay should be launched in about a month.
Current beosound 8 price will remain with -15% discount, new beosound 8 with Airplay will have current full price.

It's a dilemma. On one hand it could be useful to be able to take your iPad or iPhone and use it to control the BS8 from your armchair, but then the BS8 does look odd without a device connected to it. Plus I manage to get around the lack of AirPlay by using the Airfoil Speakers app, which turns an iPad in to an AirPlay device that can be controlled from your iPhone or laptop.
If it's just the addition of AirPlay, I'd probably get the current model with the 15% discount. However, we can't be sure that B&O haven't changed/improved other components in the new model.
Maybe there will be a BS8 without a dock? a la beolit 12 :-)
My dealer confirmed that the new BS8 with AirPlay will be more expensive than the current BS8 - £100 more here in the UK, bringing it closer to £1000.
The existing BS8 will continue, too. The new BS8 with AirPlay will be called "A8" and have a removable dock.
