Hi I got my fathers old beomaster 5500 this summer with Beovox Penta Passive speakers and bought a beogram 1902. Everything worked perfect until today.

The sound and connections seems to work just fine but for some reason the Beomaster 5500 goes into standby mode after 15-20 seconds. Same thing happens when i connect ipod to it. So is it me that  have managed to tamper with the settings or is there something wrong with my beomaster? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I am a truly beginner when it comes to these things.

Welcome to Beoworld !

These are typical symptoms of too high idle current.
Does the cooling fins get hot quickly ?
If so, your Beomaster needs service.
If my diagnose holds true it shouldn't be too expensive a repair.
