I was lucky enough (I thought) to win a Beocentre 4000 (the first time round), with a set of S40s and an iPod-DIN cable for £5, but the fun I've had trying to get hold of it has been extraordinary. Firstly, I messaged him and suggested a pickup date 2 weeks from the sale. He replied that they needed to be picked up immediately because he was moving abroad at the end of the week, which he hadn't mentioned in the listing. I therefore arranged to go down the following day, and then got a message to say "Oops, sorry, I've dropped it and it's broken, I can't complete the sale". At this point I feel pretty sure that he was unhappy to sell it for the sale price, and was trying to get out of it. I replied "That's no problem, I'm happy to take it broken; please let me know the address, and I'll come and get it".
I then get no response until the pickup date has passed, so I send him a snarky message saying he's ripped me off. He comes back all hurt, and says he's having it repaired at his own cost, and he will still sell it to me for a fiver. It'll take 2 weeks, but his parents will pick it up, and I can get it from them. He then goes silent, and after the two weeks is up, ignores all my messages. The last day when I can open a case on eBay was a couple of days ago, so I open one. He comes back and says sorry, it wasn't possible to repair it, it's cost him loads of money, but he can't complete the sale. I repeat that I'm happy to take it broken (come on, a fiver is a bargain just for the speakers. Frankly, it's cheap for just the iPod cable). He then comes back and says that he has just found out his parents are on their way to him in New Zealand with a 6 month visa, and are going on to America, but I can have it when they come back, if I like. The guy has a line for everything.
Some ebayers are just a bit "awkward". I won a beocom600 from a guy in the US for about £20; he did have some negative feedback as a seller but I though why would someone go to so much trouble for £20.
He completely failed to respond to a single correspondence and did not send the phone, eventually I took the case through ebay and got my money back. Seemed like a lot of bother for not very much!!
This guy has 100% good feedback, but I just don't think he can stand to let it go for £5. The idea that I'd believe that his parents have completely unexpectedly gone to New Zealand is extraordinary.
Guess what, one guy didnt sell BM1900 to me for a winning 0,99€ bit. Outrageous ;)
blah-blah and photographs as needed
same thing happened to me with regards to a bv1 wall bracket!! Luckly a fellow beoworlder came to the rescue!
But sometimes there are good stories too. I bid on a Vintage Technics integrated amp just last year. The listing said "one channel out". Ebay entered my bid as 50-cents. No one else bid. I won it for 50-cents. The guy packaged it up nicely and sent it.
A shot of Deoxit on the tape monitor switch fixed it. Its on my bench now playing music.
Well, I did a great deal with QDA for only 0.99 and received the item within a few day.
My compliments QDA (Quality Dream Audio), thank you!
Brengen & Ophalen

I'd never buy from them! They sold me a very expensive CD mechanism for a Beocenter 9500 that didn't work! They were not interested in responding to my complaints...
Steer clear is my advice

It is, thankyou...
I'm having terrible luck with mechanisms. I bought a DVD mechanism for my Beocenter 1 from another Beoworlder and did my dough on that too! Paid for it to be installed and it didn't work!
