I just throw in out of thin air:
a wireless pair of speakers?
Peter the biker
I think that's a good possible
Well, if you look at all of Bang & Olufsen's photos you'd think everything had always been wireless!!

When you have fixed wooden flooring, that's near enough the only option. I'd love a surround system in our TV room, but due to the nature of the flooring, it's not currently possible. It would be possible if B&O release wireless speakers which we could use as rears. Not sure if I'm overly keen on battery-powered active speakers (I don't think the batteries would last more than a day, due the power usage), but wireless speakers certainly would be a bonus.
If you can/want to use passive speakers, maybe a Teufel Rearstation will help.
Your amp needs to have RCA/Cinch out/pre-outs (via Powerlink Adapter cable you might be able to use the PL Sockets of your TV, maybe soundsheavenly / Steve can help).
And then use passive B&O Speakers (we are driving Beovox CX100, but use an Pionner AVR with pre-outs).

Leave your pickaxe in the shed and wait a little bit for wireless speakers ...
If we don't see any wireless BL's coming, the Wireless PL-set from Almando.com could be usefull - although a bit pricy imo.
For the moment, I only see Phillips htl 9100 that doesn't seems to sound good !

But the idea is, in my view, very interesting for the future...

If you had carpeting, would you run the speaker wires under the carpet, but since you have wood, the wires would be exposed?
If this is your challenge, I can commiserate. We live in an old brick house in which the exterior walls are solid brick with plaster on the inside of the brick. To run new wiring (power, cable TV, and phone), I removed the baseboards and made channels in the plaster to run the wires with vertical channels and square holes at the receptacle boxes.
Perhaps you could remove the baseboards and put the speaker wires (not power wires!) tight against the wall and then reattach the baseboards.
I also recall seeing "hollow baseboards" which were intended to run speaker wires through them. Perhaps that could be an option.

They plan on launching the new speakers in October, and dealers will get a first glance in Spain next week - after they have signed all the papers preventing them from talking about a product to be launched a few weeks later
I am still wondering why there are no details or rumors regarding the new audio system to be launched as well. More of a tablet-style than the current BS5... I can not be the only one with access to information from the dark side?
At the conference next week they will also show the new Playmaker with this button/wheel design, a much classier design than the current Tupperware version - and hopefully they will keep the current price tag.
The "new" BL8k is mentioned elsewhere, but: we all know how the current BL8k is placed on the stand, the new one looks like a lady's high heeled shoe - especially from the side. A very nice twist. The wood panels come in (at least) 3 shades, and are a very nice contrast to the shiny metal - they are spread out like a fan. This is possible as they have moved the treble part on top of the speaker in the form of an ALT-lens. This part will increase the temperature on this forum, and it will increase the performance of the speaker. This speaker will not outperform the BL9, but I guess it will outsell it by quite a large margin. A lot of us will just have to have a pair at home - this is a product to lust for. Finally.
The BL4k replacement is...different. They have an art-look that some will find avantgarde, others will simply dislike them. They will come with different "decor". The new sub (and, yes, the BL 8002, BL 2, 4k, 6002, BS 5e are all gone now) may not be available in October, but the version I saw looked like an ornament for the garden - sure, it was a prototype, but it still looked rather controversial. The next-gen BL5 is still under development, and a few have heard the prototype (Peter, too, if I understood his post correctly). This speaker can shift so much air that you will need a remote estate or bomb shelter to take advantage of the upgrade from the current BL5's.
The new "BV7" will also be shown next week at the conference. This is a far more interesting concept than the BV12-65 not-so-NG-really. The speaker that swings out under the tv and extends to both sides is a bit magical. The speaker is not as wide as the tv. Still waiting for updates on the launch calendar, but April, May and June are still the best tips (they will launch the smallest first, then followed by the mid-size and the 85" in June). Next spring we will also see the launch of the new link-tilt stand that can move the tv away from the wall as it turns. With the price of the current BV4-85/-103 lift-and-turn stand in mind, I do expect this to be a very expensive stand...
A 46" version of the V1 is not planned, but still wanted by all the Scandinavian dealers - so perhaps they will use the conference to tell the mngmt just what they want. And need. We need to keep the B1's alive!
The new (32p if I remember correctly) catalog will be out next month, too - with a plan to publish a new version twice a year. The new catalog will feature all the products to be launched this side of Xmas.
I have no need for the new "BL8k", but I just got to have a pair. I like that feeling - it's been a while since I last felt it :-)

Pretty cool i'd say. Now the question is whether the BV11 will be updated to transmit sound wirelessly
rob08:Now the question is whether the BV11 will be updated to transmit sound wirelessly
That'd be amazing. But wouldn't it need some extra hardware?
Beoworld app with direct photo upload and emoticons.
Surely new hardware is needed.
I suppose that this will be build into future BV's.
It could be possible to make an external solution (transmitter) for the PL-outlets of the recent BV's and Audiosystems as well.
Time will tell if that will happen.

This indeed is fantastic!
The WISA-technolgy is THE best wireless solution that B&O could have choosen

And by creating a platform and being open let us all hope this means a revenue stream that can save B&O and bring more fans
"Wiring mistakes are impossible and interoperability means that Bang & Olufsen wireless speakers will work with any WiSA-compliant television or receiver – whether it’s from Bang & Olufsen or another manufacturer."
And from the person my wife calls Chewbaca/chewy:
"Immaculate Wireless Sound is the biggest innovation from Bang & Olufsen for several years and will form the backbone for a launch of several new speaker products later this year."
Press release is by Jette Nygaard who escorted us on the 2012 BeoWorld tour.
"The first WiSA-certified products to use the technology will be two Bang & Olufsen powered speakers, a powered subwoofer, and a 7.1-channel wireless transmitter. The first powered speaker and the transmitter will ship at the end of October, followed before the end of the year by the other speaker and sub.
Bang & Olufsen did not reveal product details for publication. The company also plans a running change at the end of October to add the technology at no extra cost to its three BeoVision 11 TVs, making an outboard wireless transmitter unnecessary." Way To Go
Fingers crossed! It's nice to see some excitement on this forum about B&O

Wonder if possible to retrofit to an existing BV11-55?

I guess we will have to wait for a more precise statement from B&O.
But if I understand what was written above, that is exactly what will be possible.
I wouldn't call it 'retrofit' though, but upgrade - seems that this has been planned for a while?
Interesting for BSys4-owners - will this be the same there?
The way I understand it is that they will release an external box to transmit the signal to wireless speakers, and that box can be connected to any Powerlink device (Beovision, Beosound).
In addition they'll modify their TVs to integrate the emitter so you don't need an external box.
It is not clear to me if the emitter can be retrofitted inside an existing TV.
After the bv11+bl14 offer which I CAN'T STILL SWALLOW (bv11 55 purchased in august), I am sure that nothing will be retrofitted.
They will just add this functionnality to the last bv11.
Just a shame

I understand your frustration, but what's the alternative? That B&O stops doing promotions or that the stop adding features to products??
Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.
Well, it's been several months that they know that this feature will be added and a bv11 can be upgraded by internet.
B&o is not known for making promotion like this. Try to negociate a pair of cable and you will see how hard it is to obtain discount.
But suddenly they give a gift of a value of more than 2000 euros.
Silly promotion strategy.
Fortunately, they sold few bv11, so few people concerned.
I don't care the wireless stuff, I wire everything at my home.
It is just a question of respect.
Maybe we should wait to see what is coming for the BV11, before judging.
