Roger:

I am still wondering why there are no details or rumors regarding the new audio system to be launched as well. More of a tablet-style than the current BS5... I can not be the only one with access to information from the dark side?

Any information regarding BS5 updates? Will there be remote control of Spotify with MLGW or Beo6 as for N.Music or will the development stop now?

Roger:

The next-gen BL5 is still under development, and a few have heard the prototype (Peter, too, if I understood his post correctly). This speaker can shift so much air that you will need a remote estate or bomb shelter to take advantage of the upgrade from the current BL5's.

Roger

How does the "next gen BL5" differ from the current version in terms of shape, driver complement, enclosure type (sealed, ported, passive radiator), etc.?

The "new" BL8k is mentioned elsewhere, but: we all know how the current BL8k is placed on the stand, the new one looks like a lady's high heeled shoe - especially from the side. A very nice twist. The wood panels come in (at least) 3 shades, and are a very nice contrast to the shiny metal - they are spread out like a fan. This is possible as they have moved the treble part on top of the speaker in the form of an ALT-lens. This part will increase the temperature on this forum, and it will increase the performance of the speaker. This speaker will not outperform the BL9, but I guess it will outsell it by quite a large margin. A lot of us will just have to have a pair at home - this is a product to lust for. Finally.

@roger is the bass performance also better?

Or the "cooling ribs" from a new subwoofer!

we must stay tuned... But i think wood is an interesting material! Perhaps the times of aluminum and glass are over?

Wow ...

  • Living Room tour concept - first of many
  • Paul McCartney the first with live Q&A
  • Coupled with a new album that's available via pre-order
  • Three new products
  • The photos hints at three approaches in style

B&O is really mixing it up

I am excited for them ! and us (Beoworld, anything that helps to rescue the brand is great) ! and maybe me Smile

I wonder if he (can I be the first to say this?) will play "Norwegian Wood" ...

Not that it will make a jot of difference to their sales, but I think the only problem they will have in selling these things, will be opening up the minds of die hard Lewis conditioned aluminium fans like me to new designs and tastes.

Very interesting times. Looking forward to seeing these wood designs.

Probably, it will sounds very nice, but that design ! Totally not the style what is was ;)

Also I find the Beoplay A9, A3, Beolit 12 not in a ''B&O'' shape, it's more like other branches and not totally timeless.. But that's the style of Beoplay ;)

The Beovision 11 and Beolab 12-2 are very nice ! (Beolab 12-1 to simple and the Beolab 12-3 a bit too long for it's design) the Beovision's 12 are also beautiful , all products designed from David Lewis !

Now it looks like the ''standard'' B&O products gonna have the shape like Beoplay products.

Maybe it's because I'm a 90's B&O fan Wink

Speaking of the soon coming 'wireless BL's'.

It is now known that the BV11 will have (actually already has) the wireless transmitter built in.

Means that they are ready to go for the new speaker - solo or in mixed mode, as soon as they are there.

But how about the BSys4?

And how about the V1's?

Will it be possible there too?

Does B&O want to enable the V1's as well?

I see no reason why not - might boost the sale of loudspeakers.

If anyone knows more details - please tell!

Does this include a BV11 from a year ago? I'm really keen on these new BL's if they will allow a wireless transmission from my BV11. My TV room has wooden flooring, making it more complicated to use rear speakers. Wireless rears would allow a 5.1 setup for the first time!

Yes, clearly! But power sockets are widely distributed. TV is a long distance away from the back of my sofa, power within a metre. Plus cables would have to run past the fireplace to connect to the TV, which is why I've never bothered with rears.

Hi moxxey,

do not expect that your (one year old) BV11 will have the transmitter built in.

Only the recent sold/produced has it - and the future of cource.

I am not quite sure, if a 'kit' will be avaible, but - according to my latest informations - a transmitter-box (which should be rather small) will be sold.

This goes for other BV's as well!

It will be possible to combine wired speakers (e.g. existing fronts) with the wireless rears/sub.

The price for the 4000-sized new BL's should be about 10.000 DKK/for two (1134GBP aprox) - again according to the information of a dealer I spoke to today.

I even heard that a receiver-box for older BL's will be avaible.

The exact details will have to be confirmed - but imo it seem possible that this (the receiver-box) is true?

So...start saving for your new rears Smile

Perfect. Yes, wired fronts are fine. 4000-type wireless rears are sufficient. Price more than acceptable. Looks like rears, after 10 years of B&O TV ownership, will be here soon then.

Agree Salvador, B&O style is gone with his Master Designer David Lewis. But I hope B&O will launch nice design products in the future because there is always a cooperation between Bang & Olufsen and the team David Lewis Designers. Actually and personally, BeoVision 12 and BeoLab 12 are the most beautiful products in the Beo-portfolio ! These are last creations from David Lewis. I have no need and interest to buy another products from Bang & Olufsen.

Well, each time I look at the shiny aluminium of the beolab 12 , it makes me sick.

Could be beautifull, but they are not.

Thanks for this information.

I just have to find one in a french store in white. It seems to be quite difficult.

This is the first time a b&o design makes me really feel sick when I look at it.

Maybe if I could see my face on its surface, it would be worse :)

"Wireless" speakers would be nice! I don't mind the power cord, but the signals cables are a pain! Reason why I don't have rear speakers.

As long as the wireless system works better than Beolink wireless! Big Smile

If that is the actual price for a set, I fear they won't sell many of them - especially not to non-B&O costumers.
