iPoditiv:How about a rerelease of the Woodstock Festival? Peter the biker
BeoNut since '75
Question - Is the 30th just the announcement of the new speakers or will they be in the stores on the 30th??
I'm away for a few days over the 30th and could drop by a store if they were going to be there!
Ban boring signatures!
I saw the Beolab 17s today....
I like the casing and the features, but the plastic grills are awful!!!

So we are down to plastic grills now then...
Oh jeez.

Is that the "organic" view from your cell Puncher ? ;-)
StUrrock::) Could be part of a new collection, easily adapted to a radiator cover design!
valve1: Is that the "organic" view from your cell Puncher ? ;-)
Nope - the bars on my windows are definitely steel!

You started it, reminds me of Woodsome Prison Blues
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.

Can somebody please post a link to - or a picture of those 'BL 17'...???
I cannot find anything about them anywhere...
And about those new 'wooden' BL 8003's...
Please no more "It looks better in the flesh"...
I agree that sometimes things can look a little better in real life... But I have never before seen anything that looked ugly on a picture, that was really beautiful in real life...
Most of the B&O I have bought over the years, I have seen on pictures first...And because of those pictures I wanted to buy it.Just to mention a few:
Beosystem 4500...I wanted it when I saw the first pictures. I have never seen it look ugly on any picture. (unless it has been damaged) Beolab Penta - BL 3000/4500/5000 - BL 1...All of them looked (looks) great on any Picture...And - Yes - the Beolab 8000... I liked the look -even after seeing the first Picture. It wasn't 'better' in the flesh...It was as it looked on the pictures -great!
And now - we who don't like the 8003's, are hearing all the time: 'Ohhh - it's sooo much better 'in the flesh'...Come on - pictures can not be that deceiving...It is fine that some of you guys like them - somebody may have the same taste as Tue and the designer...Anyway, I'm going to see them at the local store - but I doubt that I'll suddently love the design because of that...
I am getting what you are saying but I do not agree at all. One thing is that a picture does not justify a product but also, for my view on Bang & Olufsen product is, that they grow on me through the years. I will in many occasions say at first that it looks bad, but after some time it grow into something unique. I feel the reason is that the design challenge our way on how a product should be and that is what b&o is for me breaking the limits for design.
Beovision Harmony 77" 2nd Gen, Beolab 5, Beolab 17, Beosound 1, Beoplay M3, Beoplay Portal, Beoplay Earset, Beoliving Intelligence
:)
Well, I can't see on the pictures how the aluminium and wood are finished, so I'll be my own judge to decide if they look better in flesh.

its very close to these , anyway you wont recognize the difference between a bl17 and these.

Are you able to say which store/person you were visiting ?
Annie ? James ? Kym ?

Steffen, my thoughts exactly.
I'm hard pressed that anyone who says, "I don't like them" are going to end up handing over hard cash at the store, because they where so different in "the flesh".
And bottom line is, it's not enough to "like them", someone needs to "buy them"!
Sourpuss warning, but the Beolab 8003 model is discontinued in a few years due to poor sales.
My dealer was telling me yesterday that the BL4000 'replacements' are going to come in at £2600, without stands. Price excludes the transmitter you'd need for your TV, too. Looks like a £3000+ purchase for wireless rears - sadly it's not going to happen for me.

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.
elephant:What were the 4Ks in £s ?
£1621 without stands or shipping, according to LuxusSound below.
Any news on the transmitters/receivers? Size? Price?

Bloody hell! So in euro close to 4.000 I guess then. I expect big sales.

+1
That being said, although I find the overall design is unbalanced, I am curious to see the implementation of the wood idea in the flesh.
Which ones are we talking?

I hate to be this negative about this new speaker... But it looks like a cheap Chinese copycat of the BL8000.
I bet if this was a copycat, EVERYONE on this forum would be mocking the design.
I too believe just like Punchy that some people will buy anything as long as it has "Bang & Olufsen" written on it.

I would say so too.
By the way, any news on the new audio player that was referred to earlier in this thread? Or will we only see two new speakers and a new subwoofer?
