You will probably not get audio, only picture, that way.
//Bo.A long list...
So you need to use the Audio L/R in of the TV (that are used in a DVI PC scenario).
Depending on your apple tv version you might need a converter...a DAC (can easily costs as much as the apple tv / even more).There are converters HDMI to scart as well (hd fury, if I remember correctly).
All in all no fun to set this up.
Easier to get another TV ;-))

Which model ATV do you have? If you have ATV2 (Black) follow the suggestions so far.
If you have the ATV1 (Silver) there is a much easier way to connect to your TV using ATV-Flash from firecore.
See here for an old posting if you have the ATV1 and here to how easy it is to use the ATV-Flash software. ( You can make the wor-around happen yourself if you follow this post! But too technical for me)
You would then just need one of these and the cables and you'll get sound and pictures over scart. I use this with my BeoVision 5 (SD) and Silver ATV. And it works really well.

Hi it is the atv 2 black one only bout 6 months old , so can you just explain exactly what I need again and can I get this socket in uk, its all getting quite complicated !!
Hi I have sorted dvi to hdmi lead and have rca cables and converter but what is confusing me is the digital/toslink cable ?
You're Apple TV will work very limited. If you are planning to rent a movie, using Netflix, all this content is HDCP protected. The BV6 can't handle HDCP.

Hi, do you have a copy of the BV6-22 user manual ?
This is what is on page 45:
DVI DVI-D connection for receiving digital graphics from an external PC. Supports following resolutions: 480x640/60 Hz, 600x800/60 Hz and 720x1280/60 Hz. IMPORTANT! The PC must be connected to a grounded wall outlet as specified in the PC’s setting-up instructions. L Left, line signal (for sound from PC). R Right, line signal (for sound from PC). So two things: you will need to set the ATV to 720P not 1080. And you will need the analogue audio cable from the ATV - one end should have the mini-jack that is stereo and then it splits into two mono mini-jacks for the BV6-22. Now the only page that the word/letters "PC" appears on is this page. So I think the DVI port is permanently associated with the Beo4 "PC" command. On other BVs you would use your Beo4 and press the following to make the association of an AV port to a Beo4 command: [TV] i.e. switch it on ! [MENU] use the down arrow key ▼ to go to "OPTIONS" press Beo4 (GO) button to select that item and you should now see a submenu list use the down arrow key ▼ to go to "CONNECTIONS" Here are two more sections of the manual to help you along the way - page 45 again: Any equipment you connect to these sockets must be registered in the CONNECTIONS menu. The CONNECTIONS menu is found under OPTIONS in the TV SETUP menu. For further information, refer to the chapter ’First-time setup of your television’ on page 28. and also page 28: When the CONNECTIONS menu appears... > If necessary, press ss or tt to select the options that correspond to what you have connected to the V.TAPE socket. > Press ▲ or ▼ to step between menu items: V.TAPE and AV. > Press GO to store this setup. Now in their screen shot (that I can't copy and paste) they do not show DVI as a connection - only the two SCART like connections: V.TAPE and AV. But check if on your unit you get the third option of DVI and then as described above check what Beo4 menu items/commands you can associate e.g. "PC". Finally if you have associated "PC" or if we assume it is "hardwired" that way you need to add "PC" to your list of options on your Beo4: Press and hold the standby button down (that's the red dot button) Now press LIST to get access to the Beo4 setup function (i.e. standby and LIST pressed together) Now let go of both buttons. ADD? appears in the display Press GO to bring up the list of available ‘buttons’ to add from. The first ‘button’ appears in the display, it flashes on and off Press ▼ and ▲ to move forwards or backwards in the list of all extra ‘buttons’ (the list wraps wround - but it is a long list !) Press GO to add and place the ‘button’ on its preset position or as the first ‘button’ in the list ADDED appears, indicating that the ‘button’ has been added. Now all you need to do is press TV to make sure the BV comes on. Then press LIST and watch the Beo4 display change from TV to (hopefully) PC and then press (GO) and hopefully you will have the ATV displayed on the screen. Unfortunately you ail have to use the silver Apple TV remote to navigate around the screen - which also means the ATV's IR eye (need the light white light) must be in line of sight of where you and the Apple remote are. I hope all of the above means that you will have a working system by the end of Sunday ! BeoNut since '75
