Interesting that there is a BeoRemote App - no reason really why that couldn't be extended to control of the Beosound 5

Keep hoping

Chris Townsend:

I'm not sure if it was the dvd that was playing but i wan't that blown away by the 11-55, to therefore trade in my 10-46. Unfortunately there was a 7-55 playing round the corner, and that really is that much better.

My dealer showed me Freeview HD (BBC HD channel) and HD via the Apple TV and they were inferior to the same content on my BV10-46. Dealer also remarked that the picture wasn't great in my demo. We switched the BV12 to the same content - much improved. I'm not saying the BV11-55 had a bad picture, of course not, but the increased panel size made flaws in the picture more obvious and LCD panels have a bad way of showing everything "as is", including flaws. Plasmas blend pixels more effectively.

And I think we forget that we primarily buy a TV for the picture, not how it looks in your sitting room or how many smart apps are installed. No wonder people think B&O is style over substance, we're spending more time on here discussing everything *but* the most important part - the picture quality.

mr_anders_son:

How to connect link-Tv ?

Not possible. Only audio can be distributed from/to linkrooms.

BTW: Take a look into the manuals/guides, they are also available on B&O website yet!

So stick to smaller sizes then , at least they won't be morally repugnant and offend Paul's sensitive nature.

Hi Steffan,

ok, video distribution will be possible with a costly and complex HDMI Matrix (also with BV 10 yet), but not with the new ML/NL converter.

But take a look into "getting started", connection panels (page 24):

MONITOR CONTROL: for future use

CTRL (1-2): for future use

EXT.IR: for future use

Probably some desired features will be available in future: video distribution (in HD), cinema funktion...

At the moment a BV11 supports just V.OPT 1 / 2 /4

V.OPT 5 / 6, needed for "Link Rooms" are currently not supported.

Therefore, at the moment a BV 11 can either be used as a "Video Master"
(connected via NL/ML-Converter to an existing MasterLink setup)
or as a "Stand Alone Unit" without ML integration.

Video distribution from "centralised" sources via Atlona Matrix does not need ML ...

Of course a BV 10 offers this (in standard definition)  - but that's
not any longer possible using a BV11 ...

Hi

i am too very much interested in buying the bv11 provided they re- implement the video / projector out feature like on bv7 for real home cinema. does anybody know why b&o omitted this great feature, and whether / when they plan to install it again - perhaps on those "for future use" sockets?

Welcome to the forum.

Let's hope B&O is able to implement HDBaseT to the new video engine - would solve the projector issue and
make HD-video distribution possible.

Yes, Vienna, HDbaseT is exactly what we need on BV 11 and all Beovisions to come in future because of the lack of masterlink!

Came across this FlatPanels review via Peter Pans thread ... except the Danish article had a broken link to the English translation, so I did a bit of research and found the correct article -- enjoy:
