Hello -

I am new to the site and wondered if I may ask a favour?

I have a full configuration of 80's B&O equipment I inherited from my father.  I am planning to move to different equipment, but I have no idea of the value of this equipment if sold as a complete configuration.  The units are:

Beogram CD 7000
Beogram 5005
Beocord 5500
Beomaster 5500
Penta 1 speakers
MCP 5500
Beolink 1000

The units are working properly and generally all in good condition, however the bottom panels on the speakers are open (I assume they need new springs).  Are there any members who could give me some idea of value.  I am in Canada.  Thank you very much.

Condition is everything - if you have boxes for them, even better. Prices are always varying - I suggest looking on eBay for completed sales for an idea.

I would also sell the items separately as you will get more for them.

Your most valuable items are the CD7000 - worth about £200 - and the Beogram 5005 - maybe £200 with a working cartridge. The Beomaster 5500 with MCP is a good item too and should get £200 for the pair. The Beocord will struggle to sell - shame as it is a good machine - I only use one of these now! The unknowns are the Penta speakers - Are they the Lab model or are they passives? The problem with these is transport. The rest can be packed up easily but Pentas will really require local pick up and this limits your market massively. Penta 1s are very likely to have rotten midrange drivers and so will require repair and this again limits the appeal. Pentas can go for a lot though if in good working and cosmetic condition. 1s have the disadvantage of no powerlink though.

Stick them all on eBay, with good pictures and you should get the best price.

Thank you for your comprehensive reply.  The speakers are the model with the in built amps.  They work well and sound fine so am unsure if there is any issue with the mid-range drivers.

In that case they should get a decent price. They are not as desirable as the later Mk2 & 3 simply due to the lack of powerlink sockets which means they are more difficult to connect to later equipment. They do however work well with the 5500 which has no powerlink connection. Clearly it would be easiest to find one person to take the whole shooting match in which case a price of about £1200 would seem reasonable - you would save quite a bit of hassle! I would recommend eBay still as you will get a big audience - quality pictures and descriptions are what sell! And make sure it has all been tested and works!
