I have been requested to find an easy solution for customers for more than one tonearm for Beogram 3000 with Thorens TD124MKII. The customers would like to be able to replace the complete system of the armboard and tonearm. The reason is of course to be able to listen to different tonearm / cartridge combinations on the Thorens TD124.

Earlier I have solved this in a little complicated way using phono plugs.

I have now found another solution which is much easier to mount on the armboard and to use for the customers when the armboard must be replaced.

Perhaps the materials / plugs I am using is not intended or expected used for turntables? Smile

I am using an USB plug!

The USB plugs have 4 leads and a screen. The male plug and the PCB part of the system are shielded. This fits exactly we have 4 leads from the cartridge (a balanced signal) and the shield. The USB plugs is very small and easy attach and detach.

A close up.

It is important to establish a good shielding cable between the tonearm and the USB / cable and a good "ground cable to the turntable (Thorens TD 124) chassis.

Superb work! Why make life difficult if there is something so easily available that does the job perfectly.

One day I'll buy a complete system from you, one day......

The cable.

The cable is of course the original B&O double shielded cable for turntables.
