Hi

As of now, i have my surroundsetup working flawlessly vith my BV 7-40, Bl3´s and Bl5´s.

My question is, can i furthermore connect say SONOS to the BL5´s directly without an audiomaster?

I think i was once told that to use SONOS in this setup, i would need an audiomaster in  ML connection with my Beovision 7, and then when pressing CD, without an CD in the audiomaster, the BL5´s would listeen to the digital input, (in my case SONOS).

So basicly,, can the above be achieved without an audiomaster when i still want to keep the BL5´s in a surroundsetup.?

TIA

Ehlerz

Almando Multiplay should work.

Search for it on this Forum.

What about a Beolink converter as an audiomaster?

Connect it to ML. Connect Sonos to Beolink converter (Aux) and digital connection directly to BL5.

Control Sonos via a Lintronic box - connected to converter datalink- in CD mode. BL5 should switch automatically to digital input.

In this way it should be possible to control the audiosystem in a eolink system.

Beolab5's need powerlink data, so I think you will have no sound.

Why not just use the BV and P.mute the screen? Seems straight forward and no real hoops to jump through...

Ah, you know... A little B&O here, a little there

Well, that is an option, however not my first priority. I guess you mean hooking the sonos up to the AV4 phono input on my Beovision? This way, the sonos will not be connected digitally to the BL5´s, so will i not miss out on the sound quallity?

Interesting, however i must admit that i am not to familiar with the beolink converter and furthermore not keen on having the Lintronic control if i can avoid it :-)

Just connect a BL converter to your ML system and connect your sonos (you will need an rca to DIN adapter) to AUDIO AUX LINK plug.

BV should be set to V.OPT 2 - should work, but I never tried - I`m using a BS5 .:-)

You don`t really need a Lintronic box, it`s just an option to control sonos with your Beo remote controls,

but of course you can use i-devices or something else....(?)

I still do not understand. What do i connect to the Beolink converter? Only ML and then connect the sonos directly to the digital inputs on BL5?

Beolab5's need powerlink data, so I think you will have no sound.

The Website says:

Powerlink signals of connected B&O sources simply were looped through. All remaining audio signals by devices of other manufacturers – it doesn’t matter if digital or analogue – are converted into 100% standardized B&O Powerlink signals, including the trigger voltage appropriate for B&O speakers.

Sorry to be unclear.

You connect a BL converter to your BV via ML, then you connect Sonos analogue out to BL converter inputs (AUDIO AUX), and connect Sonos spdif out to BL5 digital in. BL5s are connected also via Powerlink to your BV.

For more info:

http://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/4302.aspx?PageIndex=1

In addition you can connect a Lintronic box do BL converter datalink. But this setup should work without Lintronic box.

Hope this helps.

To avoid buying more the converter simply connect to the BV directly. You are effectively doing the same thing by using the converter scenario, just buying more equipment. Neither of the methods mentions will give digital sound, only analogue.

@ Ralf

BL5 needs a fully wired cable to function.

If you scroll down that same website, it says that it works limited for BL5.

Yes. BL5 needs fully wired PL cable. And it needs CD mode to switch to digital input.

This can be via Powerlink data - in L.OPT 0 - or via IR directly from Beo4/6 in L.OPT 1...

I `ve had several devices connected to my BL5s in CD mode in the last 5 years, and they all worked with digital input, So a BL converter should work the same way. Let your Sonos work as an audio source in your setup, and it will automatically switch to an audio SPEAKER mode, if you select for example "CD".

BL converter seemed to get useless years ago, when more and more products got Masterlink instead of Master control link.

But now it can work as a master for digital audio third party products in a Beolink system - exactly what a lot of Beo-users need.

What does it actually do?

- BL converter simply opens an audio port (stereo) when connected to an ML videomaster in CD,RADIO, A.MEM mode. This will also work in a Beolink system from linkrooms.

- It will automatically switch your system to audio mode.

- It is possible to control third party products via an ir converter like Lintronic through a BV videomaster using the datalink port. This will also work from all masterlinked linkrooms.

- BL5s will automatically switched to digital input using CD mode. If there is no signal on digital input, or nothing connected, it will automatically switch to analogue (Powerlink) input.

Simple. I hope this makes sense......

As you can see in the thread from January 2013, it`s not "my" solution, and it`s not new...;)

Prize? Du bor i Danmark? Så kender du: http://www.dba.dk/soeg/?soeg=Beolink+converter

Omkring 200 - 300 Dkr brugt.Ny måske 1400.- Dkr...(?)

Good luck.

HI all

I really need help with this setup.  Posted my experiences in the thread regarding this specific setup which was linked to earlier in this thread, hopefully someone can help me sort things out. The only thing i can think of is causing the problems is that it might not be the same cable i shall use from AE to AUX in on BS 3000 and from AE to Audio AUX LINK on BL converter?
