Hi I have a beocentre 9300 which I have had for the last 5 years, today it has developed a fault where the unit clicks on and off like it us trying to start up with the light sometimes flashing as it does this, any help and advice very much appreciated, thanks
Hi. Does this happen with any source you try to use or just for example with cd? With just the info you have given and assuming it is with any source then possibly a fault with the internal mains transformer or even some speaker cable shorting out causing the center to try and shut down.
More obvious candidate being the mains plug/fuse wire shorting somewhere. Hopefully some of the more tech guys here will be able to advise further but please a little more information re with any particular source (radio, cd or tape).

Hi,thanks for the reply ,switched beocentre on this afternoon ,it started ok played 5 cd tracks then the cd stopped ,all lights remained on ,tho, when I touched any bottom on deck nothing happened, the lights remained on,had to turn unit off at the mains to turn unit off,not sure if I should turn unit back on,any advice please,
Sounds more like a power supply issue but really wouldn't like to say for sure. Are you using active or passive speakers? Try disconnecting the speakers and using headphones. If the unit is ok then maybe there is a short somewhere in the speaker cable.
Could be a faulty processor. I made a Eeprom copy once from a full working 9300 and voila!

Hi,I'm using passive speakers ,tried headphones it still shuts it self off ,it has started making a clicking noise when I switch it on it clicks tho nothing happens it sounds like it is trying to start up,sometimes it will start up ok and play a cd for 15 mins then switch itself off ,then when I try to put it back on it just clicks ,no lights nothing, any help very much appreciated,
Hi,could you explain your answer a bit more simply please as I am not very tech minded, thanks,
