Hi,

The hard buttons on my Beo5 are starting to wear off. I got the remote second-hand 2 years ago. If you take a look at the picture the arrows in the centre have worn away, but more worrying is the the coating on the other buttons is cracking an flaking off allowing the back-light through.I can live with the arrows wearing off but I am worried about the other buttons.

The up arrow, down arrow and red dot button are the worst affected (see the web like cracks). The up arrow shows the back-light shining through in the picture - You can see 4 dots of light (not poor photography but light coming through) - I notice you can scratch  the black top coat away away with a fingernail easily.

Is anyone else suffering this issue? Can anyone let me know if I can buy a replacement keypad and whether it is something I can fit myself.

Thanks stoobie

I have the same problem on my 4 years old Beo 5.

The keypad can be replaced by your dealer or he orders the part and you exchange it yourself.

In my opinion this quality is a shame for Bang & Olufsen! Does anybody know if the material is better on the Beo 6?

I can confirm that the keypad can be quickly changed.

Once the base is removed, the keypad itself is a push fit.
