Once again, B&O has been trumped....
The AX-1000z: 1 MHz /48-bit PCM!Dr. AIXAIX Records' hardware division is very proud to announce their first hyper audiophile hardware component...the AX-1000z Ultimate AD/DA converter. In the continuing quest for every higher resolution and cost, the AX-1000z is the latest ultra-expensive, super high-resolution, rubidium stabilized 100 MHz clocked, HD-PCM doublewide, liquid nitrogen cooled audiophile must have component! The AX-1000z is capable of encoding and decoding analog audio up to 500 kHz with signal to noise ratios eclipsing 288 dB! You've never heard resolution so lifelike and overpowering...I mean it, you've NEVER heard sound this rich in subtle nuance and low level detail. It’s actually better then real life. The AX-1000z uses newly developed solid unobtainium circuit board traces on a 48 layer hand etched circuit board with low profile discrete components to bring new levels of performance to professional audio engineers and audiophiles alike. One prominent reviewer was literally speechless after getting a private and extended opportunity to hear this remarkable piece of analog and digital engineering. Holger Ardoffhierinch tweeted, "The AX 1000z achieves levels of fidelity that makes the word fidelity obsolete! Listening to the AX-1000z reproduce a 1938 "Loving Mono" production of a newly buffed original Blättnerphone broadband metal tape recording showed just how much how far this technology advances the state-of-the-art. The rhythmic pacing of the middle register was especially delicate and Jell-O-like with the never heard before super sub octaves at minus16 to minus 8 Hz shaking the almost 500 pound AX-1000z on it's custom designed maglev stand (sold separately). And talk about ultrasonic frequency response! The AX-1000z handled the high harmonics of the late period Mahler “Concerto for Piccolo and Glockenspiel” with ease. Of course some credit must be given to the super resolution, dual dome pico flux tweeters used on the AIX designed and one of a kind MDW-900 Series 4 speakers. The AX-1000z shows us what high-end audio will be in the very distant future AND remarkably it's available now." The company has not yet announced the retail price for the AX-1000z but during Dr. Waldrep's recent seminar at the Rocky Mountain Audio fest, he hinted the company was trying to keep the price under $6,000,000...or just a little more than the price of their top secret and yet to be announced super ultimate-resolution, latex extruded, titanium, self-levitating, 2-gauge wire power strip! The AIX press release also mentioned a new liquid non-oxidizing gel that can be applied directly to your ears to keep them from responding to the bias transferred, mechanical impedance oscillations and static build up so prominent in Blättnerphone-derived source recordings...stay tuned for an upcoming review.
Trying to keep the price under $6M............ I don't want to hear price objections from anyone on Beoworld from here on out.
Ah, you know... A little B&O here, a little there

Soon to be produced by Lirpa Labs.
As PDQ Bach said, loud is good, fast is better, loud and fast is best, and this will be louder and faster than any preceding audio component!

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.

Just got it in my email today. It's from a real guy, so I thought he meant it. But then again, maybe not?

Sony is entering the High-Resolution Audiofield, too and I bet that this is a much more serious step than those "esoteric" 6000$ D/A-Converter.http://discover.store.sony.com/High-Resolution-Audio/And this should be something like a more modern Beomaster 5 example:
http://store.sony.com/hi-res-music-player-with-1tb-hdd-zid27-HAPZ1ES/cat-27-catid-All-Res-Audio?_t=pfm%3Dcategorycontrolable on the device itself and via Smartphone/Tablet as standard. They've even introduced a High-Res-Audio Walkman: The ZX1http://thewalkmanblog.blogspot.de/2013/09/sony-japan-debuts-new-walkmans.html
AIX was instrumental in disclosing the high-resolution scam from providers of so called High-Rez recordings that were/are nothing of the sort.
Here, they're having fun. But USD 6.000 for an audiophile DAC is a starting price among the nutters - you'd be met with "when are you going to upgrade?"
