I suggested in another thread about whether B&O should produce a new turntable that maybe B&O should develop a turntable with a contact free electronic laser type stylus that would not cause any vinyl wear.

I've now realised that there is already such a turntable on the market, with a B&O sort of price tag.

Any views?

Thanks for this vikinger.

I had never heard of this and now just consumed about 20 articles, it does seem you need to deep clean your vinyl each time to get the best results.

My only downside is the way it looks, rather boxy and ugly.

we tend to forget there is more to design than designing.

So maybe B&O needs to adapt the technology and get it into some shiny aluminium. (Or should that read wood??????)

Cripes, they still make that thing?! All the reviews from the past talked about the noise issue which in practice is about impossible to get rid of. It took so much cleaning and post processing/filtering it was only deemed suitable for archival places like music libraries where you'd do the exhaustive cleaning and then play an old, irreplaceable disc once to copy it, it wasn't felt to be a suitable product for daily use.

Plus of course for the audiophile market what good is it if you can't change out arms, cartridges, platter mats and clamps and such and argue about which is best?Smile

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad
